Strands

I’ve been going to strands since I returned to Calgary in 2012. I used to only visit their canyon meadows location which is a lot busier than downtown (so highly recommend booking an appointment well in advance). Lately, I moved downtown so I go to their downtown location for a quick appointment. Rupy and the rest of the staff are so welcoming and always greet me with a smile. They always remember their repeat customers and know exactly what they are in for. I’ve never been the kind of person to always go to the same stylist or aesthetician but, I think it speaks for itself when I say I’ve been going to strands for almost 4 years now. I’d highly recommend Rupy and her teams services any day.

Tried this place twice now. Both times were for threading. I love the convenience of on-​line booking. They called me back shortly after and booked me in for the next day. Fran the receptionist does a good job of trying to fit you in if you are in a jam.
If you are looking for a great way to deal with some unwanted facial hair, threading is the way to go. Not too many places do this good of a job though.
Happy with the service, speediness, location and quality of the results. Will be back for sure!

I go to both locations, downtown and canyon meadows. I’ve had a few different people do eye brow threading and everytime I love the results. They’re great people, very nice and social and do a great job! I definitely recommend them!

I have never been here but I was calling to make an appointment. I called a few times and someone would pick up and say «great things happen at strand…» And then the call would be disconnected.
I finally googled another number and the lady on the phone was very rude to me. I was trying to explain what had happened because she said my number was on her caller ID a few times. I know you shouldn’t judge something before you’re in there but seeing they were rude before I even entered the building says something.

I think Strands is wonderful. They have always been friendly and on-​time for my appointments. I get my eyebrows threaded here and it is by far my favorite place. This week they went above and beyond to fix my hair (after a bad cut from another hair salon). Deni was so understanding and did a great job fixing it up! I will now be a regular.
Plus you can’t beat this location if you work downtown.

This little salon does well because of it’s location. It is conveniently located in the Shell building downtown, so anyone who needs something minor done quick, this is the place to go. Need a trim, need your bangs shaped, eyebrows waxed/​tinted, lip threaded, or maybe you want a post-​work facial to calm you down. They have a wide range of services that cater to both men and women. For me, it’s great because I work in the area, buzz down to get my eyebrows done and viola, i’m out in 15 minutes. Perfect.
Unfortunately the last time I was in, I was double booked, so it ended up taking 30 minutes, which is too long for me to be away from the office. I figured because of the mistake, they’d offer me a free threading or something, but no, so that was disappointing. However, location wins and I will be back.
