Standard Modern Speakeasy and Social Club

The music was pretty good, not specifically my taste. It’s a really neat place. You enter through a back alley and go to a basement, but it is decorated very nicely inside. There is lots of room to move around.

On August 1^st 2015, my group of five ladies booked bottle service for one of our bachelorettes. Bottle service includes no line, no cover, a bottle of booze, a bottle of champagne, a table and a waitress all for $ 250. Couple things we were not told at time of booking: the bottle would be under lock and key the entire night which normally would be fine if the waitress was able to get the lock undone. Anytime we wanted a drink, it took a couple minutes to track down our waitress and another ten to get the box unlocked. So I’d say we maybe drank half the bottle or less. Then we get our bill and another news flash: there is an auto gratuity of $ 50.00 on our bill. No where on their website nor on any of the email communications for booking did it state the auto gratuity. I asked the waitress for a manager and along came Sally. Right off the bat, she was extremely rude to me. Basically said I had no choice and that it was being paid. I explained to her that we were not told about this and our service was terrible. She said that our waitress should have told us about it which is all fine and dandy to say, but the waitress didn’t. So finally I asked to speak to Sally’s manager who apparently was busy. We waited for about ten minutes when we decided we should head to the front and hope for better luck. Right when we reached the doors I asked the bouncer to find us a manager. At that point Sally runs up and accuses us of trying to ditch the bill completely which was uncalled for and completely untrue. Unfortunately, the manager who finally showed up was also no help and again, five ladies were treated like garbage. I asked if we could simply tip less because the service was so awful, if we could take home our at least half full bottle of booze we paid for — which I’m sure is now behind the bar and being charged to other patrons — and no luck. Finally, out of frustration I paid the full $ 300 and the manager still wasn’t happening, questioning what I was giving him instead of simply looking at what I handed him. Honestly, the music was fine, the atmosphere was good but after this experience I will never go again nor would I ever recommend to a friend. As someone who studied hospitality in university, no customer should be treated as we were that night and the managers here need some serious training. I understand this is a bar and they are probably used to dealing with drunk customers who are completely unreasonable but that wasn’t us and I’m truly disappointed.

Excellent Club! I’ve been here several times for all different kinds of events; bachelorette parties, girls night out, bday parties etc.
I love the music and the atmosphere! The set up is great; lots of room, small and large booths to accommodate any size party, several bars so you don’t have to wait long for a drink, lots of space to dance, and overall a really classy vibe. Also, the customer service is amazing! If you get bottle service there’s no cover, guest list all night, and your own personal waitress pours your drinks!
I feel good about recommending this place to anyone and I like bringing my «out of town» friends here for a nice time.
