This is the way a pawn shop should be. It is clean and well laid out. It even smells good. My sister told me about this place and she was right. As a woman I felt comfortable. My sister got rid of some unwanted Jewellery from a an ex and got a good price and told me the whole process was smooth and not intimidating. I was on a different mission. I wanted to treat myself, but not interested in paying the hefty prices at the mall jewellery shops. I met with Arlene at the shop and was comfortable right away. She was great, and patient. I ended up buying a triplet diamond ring for about 30% of what the same Ring was going to be at Chinook Center. I even got a fresh appraisal that she gave me to keep. I did see a Ladies Rolex that Arlene let me try on. I will have to do a little more saving, but will be back to meet with her again. Kudo’s to the owners for making a Pawn shop for girl’s too.

I finally found a drill! I went here and found the drill my husband wanted. It was almost like new and $ 50 less than Home Depot. They let me drill into a peice of wood with It. It works great, is clean and looks hardly used. I got the original case with a charger and 2 battery. The men there were very nice and did not smell bad like some other pawn stores I went to. They did not bug me and only helped when I ask. I also saw they had nice jewelry at fair prices. I showed them a gold ring i had in my purse. I did not sell it to them as I do not sell my gold and just wanted to see if they would offer a fair price. I know gold and the price they offered was very good. They were still nice after I told them I did not want to sell. I will go back soon and buy something for myself.

I am a total treasure seeker! If I had the time I would seek out every garage sale, auction or second hand store that I could find in any given city. Many times I have found incredible items on whatever shelf at some abandoned junk store or some tattered box at a flea market. One auction in small town Quebec at an estate sale I came away with a box for $ 5, but what I really came away with were around 30 sets of demitasse cups and saucers, a few were Royal Daltons and one was a commemorative one for some special event in Ireland in the 40s, it was worth well over $ 200. That being said, I have had my eye on Rocky Mountain Pawn Ltd, its building is right on Macleod Trail and it has this huge sign painted on the side of it. The traffic wasn’t that bad that day so I swung a quick right into the parking lot. This shop is fairly clean and organised, the owner Roger has a great eye for things and is really selective of what he brings into the store. The tools are really clean, the bikes, the electronics area is well laid out. I saw 16 to 30GB iPods there for less than $ 100. He also has a fine selection of used instruments, all for pretty good prices. I like collecting gold pieces, it is merely as an investment thing because gold will never devaluate but our Canadian dollar can, so whenever I have the chance I purchase a ring or two. Rocky has a nice clean selection of gold and diamond rings and they are pretty cheap too what they are, I came away with a nice gold band for under $ 50 that day. I am glad I came into this pawn shop; it is one of the nicest ones I have seen in the city and with great customer service; in fact I am planning on being a weekly customer.
