DONOTTRUSTTHISCOMPANY! LOTSOFEXPENSIVEBROKENSTUFF, ALSONEGLECT, BULLYINGANDEXTORTION. To start, they dropped my secure closed bin full of expensive electronics down a flight of stair, bin broke open and everything in the bin was broken to bits, my xbox in piece, my digital camera and so much more. This I JUSTTHEBEGINNING. It gets soooo much worse. I moved out a small 1 bedroom unit into storage unit with easy pull in garage access 5 minutes away. Everything was packed into boxes ready to go. It took the two movers 6 hours for a job that a few friends could have done round trip in 3 – 4 max. They wasted so much time moving, one mover would just stand around until the other came in before he would pick up anything. Then he’d pick up a broom or something really small and take it to the truck. I had to go to him and start handing him more to carry so he would be more useful. Once we got to storage, it was obvious they didn’t pack the truck well at all and I had tons of broken boxes, mirrors, decorations. Boxes marked FRAGILE obviously were beat up, after opening a few to check I found tons of more broken items. While they were unloading, one of the movers used my small book shelf as a stool and broke it completely. As soon as we got to the storage unit I asked them to load my couch and mattress into the unit first. Both were loaded to the truck last and were easily accessible. They loaded my couch, but kept going around my mattress and grabbing boxes and then set them outside the storage building. I kept asking them to put my mattress in the unit so we could put the other boxes in the unit. They refused and kept putting boxes and other items outside the truck. Once they had emptied half my stuff onto the sidewalk instead of in my unit as I continually asked them to do, they said they need to have me sign the paperwork and work out payment before they can proceed with taking my mattress and remaining items off the truck and loaded all my stuff into the storage unit. This is where the FUN begins. I have to back track a bit. When the movers first arrived to my apartment there were only two guys and I paid for three and the estimated time to move was based on 3 movers not 2, so it was to take longer and therefore cost more than I was quoted on the phone. I had already given them a $ 95 deposit over the phone when I booked them as a security deposit, and I needed to be moved out so I had to roll with the change of terms even though it was increasing the price significantly. The movers wouldn’t start until I agree to the new terms, so basically, they renegotiated our agreement on my dime as they started the clock on arrival. So now back to payment time. Due to them hey changing the terms from what I was told verbally, and also wasting so much time getting me moved, the bill was over significantly higher than what I was quoted and expected to pay. I was told when I booked the movers that if I paid in cash I’d get a $ 10 discount at the end, so I brought enough cash with me that was well over the estimate I was given. Well due to the final amount being so much higher than I was quoted I didn’t have enough cash to pay in full, so I told them I’ll forgo the $ 10 discount and pay by check or credit. The guys then told me they will only accept cash, which was not what I was told, and locked up the truck with my stuff inside and said they would sit there until I paid in cash in full, meanwhile racking up more time. When I finally got the cash and paid them the extremely overcharged high amount in full, they opened up the truck and took out my remaining items and put them on the sidewalk next to all my other stuff. I asked them to put everything in the storage unit like they said they were going to do, and like I paid them to do. They said that once they are paid they are instructed to empty the truck and leave. They left all my belongings on the sidewalk outside the storage building. I’m a small female and they just drove off leaving all my stuff outside that I couldn’t possibly move by myself. All my damaged belongings that I found throughout the move, the movers told me to set aside and they would deal with the reimbursement at the end. Before they left I asked for paperwork or information on it how to get reimbursed. Turns out, they aren’t going to pay for any of it. I haven’t opened my boxes yet or examined all my furniture closely, and I image I will find tons more damage once I go through everything. This company is unethical and HORRIBLE. The owner, who calls in on the phone throughout the process is aggressive and used bully tactics and extortion to scam people. DONOTUSETHISCOMPANY!!! Oh and billing and paperwork only had the name Juanita Movers and nothing which named Jay’s Moving, so they are affiliated.

DONOTTRUSTTHISCOMPANYWITHYOURBELONGINGS! WORSTSERVICEEVER!!! I second the complaint of the first reviewer! Negative stars would be appropriate! I recently moved(twice!!) with Jay’s Moving and the customer service and level of professionalism by both the office staff and the movers was horrid. The movers were negligent with my belongings, caused a significant amount of unnecessary and preventable damage and even though I had full replacement insurance, the office is not taking any responsibility for it.(To clarify how I could possibly have given my business twice to such a horrible organization, they moved me into storage while I was waiting for my property to be ready and then back out again when I moved in. Most of the damages occurred on the move into storage so it wasn’t until I had my belongs back out that I could see what had been done). Not only did I deal with careless, disrespectful movers who treated my belongings with total disregard, the rep(who was all sunshine while taking my job) was almost immediately rude and condescending when I attempted to discuss my claim being flat-out rejected. A few examples below: The reason my claim was rejected was because«you were not eligible for replacement insurance». I replied that I discussed my moving requirements in length with the rep(several times) and if I wasn’t eligible(which was NEVER communicated to me) why I was charged for it? His ridiculous, aggressive response was«Well, my question to you is why did you pay it?» Excuse me? Rep also said that a claim for 12 items was excessive — this was of course after he feigned no knowledge of my claim and hadn’t seen the report earlier in the conversation. I’m not sure how he figures that 12 items out of an entire household is excessive — especially when the movers where throwing my mattress on top of stacked furniture? How can I have items for 10 — 15 — 20 years(and at least 6 moves) but your employees can’t have them for 6 hours without destroying them? I reiterated numerous time through the ‘conversation’ that I wasn’t interested in fighting, that I only wanted to be treated fairly and decently and that I’d like to resolve this issue, he continued to throw ignorant comments at me and that«the contention is» that it is his word against mine. Which actually isn’t the case at all! One of the second set of movers(who moved me out of storage) commented on how poorly my things had been put into the storage unit and that he would be mentioning it to the office when he got back. Of course, no one followed up about that but there are company employees who saw what had been done and agreed it was awful!!! I have also had a ‘conversation’ with the district manager(marginally better than the rep, who I heard laughing in the background) and he also claims no liability for the damages. And even though I(and anyone else who doesn’t take out the replacement insurance) would/should be entitled to the movers basic automatic coverage(which is 60 cents per pound of the damaged item) I won’t get that either. His token gesture is to refund my insurance money but it’s small consolation after everything else that has happened. I could go on but I think it’s pretty clear the level of ignorance that I had to deal with. I can’t express enough my disappointment and utter shock at how poorly I was treated by this supposedly well respected company. I wasn’t asking for anything excessive, I only wanted to have my items treated with care and be compensated fairly for the items damaged and their response was to be ignorant and rude. I will never use this company again and will definitely be following this up with the Better Business Bureau. WORDTOTHEWISE, DONOTTRUSTTHISCOMPANYWITHYOURBELONGINGS. Their word and customer service is as poor as their movers.

DONOT use this company, I moved recently and used them — horrible service and huge damage to my belongings! I have moved several times in the past 10 years and have never experienced such negligence in the handling of my belongings. A very expensive piece of original art on canvas, which I have moved 6 times without a scratch was destroyed by Jay’s moving — not one dent — that would be an accident, but 6 severe dents, total disregard for any care in handling this expensive piece of art. Movers were cranky and obviously were not happy to do their job, complaining it was more work than they expected, one of the movers was very ill with food poisoning, vomiting throughout the day, why didn’t they send him home and get a replacement. In the end, not only was my art destroyed, they also destroyed a crystal lamp and two lamp shades. Just a joke. The company takes no responsibility for this damage as they site I did not have them pack everything — ridiculous, I have never had the moving company pack everything! I wish I could give them negative stars but this site makes me rate at least one star.
