Hair of the Dog

Reading the reviews convinced me to try out this place for our puppy. The first interaction on the phone was very good, got her booked. When we arrived at the appointment, we were told that it was supposed to be the following week… However the girl working at the time agreed to accommodate her regardless. Which was appreciated. As we were going to leave she informed us that our puppy would be unlikely to receive a cut that day only a shampoo, nails, and ears as they do not want to traumatize her in any way. While I appreciate the concern, I was not told at any point during the booking that this was the case, rather that it would be a long appointment to accommodate going slowly with her but to get the job done. Which I was completely fine with and actually appreciated! When I relayed that to her she just got progressively more curt and rude. She followed up with a rude phone call to let us know that the puppy was ready for pick up. Zoey looked amazing and I guess a lady by the name of Stephanie groomed her hair and was able to do all that was needed. The next day I followed up with the owner just to let her know that while we were happy with the work, were very unhappy with the experience. She was OK but not as professional I would have liked. And we’ll leave it at that. Too bad. At the end of the day, good quality work, but not good customer experience and as a result will go to a different place next time.

My regular groomer is on vacation and one of the lovely people in my neighborhood recommended Hair of the dog. Since my fur baby couldn’t wait a couple weeks for a haircut, bit the bullet and made an appointment for him.
Super friendly staff, from making the appointment, to arrival all the way to pick-​up. We spoke on what type of haircut and since its been allot warmer this past week, knew we needed to go a bit shorter to keep my pooch cool. He got a bath, nails cut, and a great haircut. When I picked him up, he looked so happy and relaxed with the groomer, which I love to see since he is a needy dog and seeks constant attention from everyone in his path :)
His haircut was great and the girls were so good with him. Pricing was reasonable for full service grooming.
Will defiantly bring him back. Thanks so much!

My First time at hair of the dog. My groomer stephaine did an amazing on me job. She was super friendly to my mom too. She talked to my mom. and asked her what type hair cut my mom wanted for me. And then it was time I got a bath, my nails cut, and my hair cut, I even got a flower too my mom says she loves it there and I look perfect. My mom says she will bring me back again. Thankyou to my wonderful groomer stephanie from me and my mom. And please go check it out and ask for stephanie. Took my dog, Willow, there for the first time yesterday. It was her first time at any groomer. She is a very nervous dog and I was very worried about taking her anywhere. They were wonderful with her. They were patient, and did an amazing job with her. She looks so good, and I won’t hesitate taking her back.

The owner here is so amazing! Ive been taking my chi here for a while and started taking my latest addition there as well. She is so patient and is definitely the best groomer we have found for our 4 year old chi! I drive past 3 other groomers and for about 35 min to their place and wouldnt go any where else!

I have been to many groomers over the years with both my dogs and I’m so thankful I found hair of the dog! I am always happy with how both dogs look when they are groomed and for my wedding Michelle did a wonderful job on our ring bearer (Kovu). We are expecting a standard poodle puppy in 8 weeks and will continue to use hair of the dog for our grooming needs.
They can be a bit pricier then other places I’ve been but I’m happy to pay extra to have their professional care. You can really tell the difference from a dog groomed at other places as compared to a dog groomed here. Also, they are very accommodating of my schedule and I can drop off in the morning and swing by at lunch to pick my dogs up. Highly recommend!

Both my parents’ dogs and my dog go to this groomer and we couldn’t be happier.
They turned an idea of ours into reality by giving our dog his famous mohawk. He’s always getting compliments from the ladies for his do! I’m a bit surprised they even let him back after his first pre-​neuter puppy trip where he «marked» every corner and wanted to wrestle with all the ladies. Now he’s a regular…
The standard poodles always come out with excellent cuts and are happier going here than old groomers. They take good care of them all day and can be quite quick for a full groom. They are attentive about what the customer wants and overall extremely friendly.
