this place was absolutely filthy I’ve seen crack houses cleaner. the owner was a complete dick. he acted like he was interested then said that he only buys high end stuff but he’s got bikes that are worth like $ 20 tops that are covered in dust his display cabinets were a complete and udder mess. he says he only buys high end stuff but the only high end thing in there is a rolex worth about 8000. I don’t recommend going there unless you plan to be ripped off

The pizza joint got shut down for not paying rent and got evicted, so if the smell of pizza is the only reason you came, don’t bother… This guy raffy was ridiculous. Totally tried to rip me off an appraised item, then after I told him value said he «wasn’t interested», while at the same time hes with some teenager and Raffy laons a nintendo ds game for 15 $, which is 5 $ more than they go for at EBGAMeS. EBGAMES only buys ds games for 5 – 10 $ at most, so this guy is kind of ridiculous, doesn’t know his values, barely anything in the store, besides some junk in the case and vacuum cleaners.

Raffy the owner is a real decent guy. I’ve bought a few items here and got a good deal. Yes it’s a bit dirty, but if you actuall talk to Raffy you might get a real bargain. I got a mint Hummel figuerine for my Mom. I also bought my wife’s I Phone here and never had a issue with it. Definatly worth a look.

Excellent Customer Service. I’ve done business with Raf on many occasions and I find him to be honest, ethical, and fair. Out of any pawn shop in Calgary I know that I can go to Great West and be treated fairly, get top dollar for my products, and shop with confidence knowing that I’ll get the best deal and good quality products.

If you like the smell of pizza you could come here and smell it wafting in from next door. This place is slightly dirty and has a small selection of items; there are some amps, musical instruments, jewellery and electronics. I found everything really overpriced for what it was and the condition it was in. I was really into an older Seagull guitar at $ 325 until I saw a crack in it. I wouldn’t even touch it and the seller/owner? claimed that the older guitars were not in better shape… and I thought okay fine but then why charge $ 325 for a cracked guitar. How ridiculous, once cracked you have no guitar and to refurbish something like that would cost $ 300 alone. I wouldn’t recommend this pawn shop if you want to find anything special but kudos for him for sort of trying(I think)

Kind of a dirty little shop with a poor selection of useful items and it smells like pizza… That’s because of the pizza place next door, and that was the only appealing thing about the place. They had some real crappy guitars, a few amps(one or two might be worth something), a few snowboards, helmets, snow globes, old microwaves, etc, etc. Not much worth a damn… But he was selling a Gretzky rookie card for $ 700. That was probably the highest priced item in the store…
