The Gift Shop at the Glenbow Museum is nice. There’s a great selection of books, art prints, jewellry, scarves, CD’s, & anything else a typical museum shop sells. I found the prices a bit high but that’s to be expected for a museum shop.

The Gift Shop at Glenbow Museum is always the easiest entrance you can take from Stephan Avenue into the Museum. You can bypass it and go directly to the receptionist at the Museum but chances are you will always be distracted by what the gift shop is offering. This is such a nice and thorough gift shop in that it has such a great variety of everything. There are amazing art books, ethnography and biography books, there are tapes and CDS of music from all over the world, there is artwork and amazing handmade gifts. Not only that but the staff that work there are so incredibly nice, they are so calming and kind of hypnotically informative. They seduce you into wanting to stop and hear what they have to say about that British Columbia Mask on the wall, or this Trinidadian jewellery maker. It is so educational and it really is so personable and fun. I think the GMGS is a perfect pit stop for folks Christmas shopping this season simply because they carry items that are exclusive to the Museum and that you won’t find anywhere else in Calgary. Prices are surprisingly reasonable as well.
