I have a bit of a mixed opinion of this place. The shop itself is beautiful and everything is so perfectly put together. While I do have a very large sweet tooth, I was blown away when I found something that was little too sweet for my palette. The mounds of icing is too much and I was honestly only able to get through half before having to stop. A big recommendation is to try the mini versions as they are much more manageable(the peanut butter one is my fav) and you’re able to try different flavours without drowning from sugar. Funny enough, I actually don’t go to this place for the cupcakes, but for their other desserts, in particular their squares! Twix is my favourite candy bar and I love that they have their own version of it as well as the peanut butter brownie. You will definitely get your sugar fix from these small, sweet treats. The cupcakes themselves get a 3⁄5 because I do enjoy the mini versions from time to time, but an extra star goes to the other treats they have. It’s unfortunate they only have them at the Kensington location!

I’m in Vancouver, twice I’ve had cupcakes delivered to family in Calgary. Both times the service was excellent and the family LOVED them. The only reason it’s 4 out of 5, I haven’t tried them yet. If I could I would add a ½ star just for their artist, she did a custom order the first time that captured what I was looking for. Hoping to try on my next visit and update my review.

The best cakes in Calgary. Always baked fresh with the best ingredients. Loving some of their new products like the cheddar scones and peanut butter squares. Monogram coffee is a nice addition and compliment to their offering.

I tried the Red Velvet Elvis cupcake and the Raspberry Lemon one. Both of them were absolutely delicious! What’s more, I tried the small raspberry pie with nuts on top and it was tasty too! The price is affordable and the staff is very helpful and friendly! Two thumbs up! :))

One of the best cupcake places I’ve been to! Their cupcakes are moist(assuming same day consumption) and icing flavours always complement the base batter. Love the element of surprise with their cupcake of the day. Service has mostly been good(I’ve been here a couple of times) but sometimes not the most knowledgable.

My go to place for cupcakes. It’s always a nice mini sweet treat for any occasions. A bit on the pricier side, but always good for your sweet tooth cravings :) I like that this location has monogram coffee now and a little sitting area after they expanded. They also serve a bigger variety, brownies and cookies, etc. Street parking in Kensington; if you don’t wanna pay on weekdays and don’t mind walking a bit, parking by the school down the road is free 2 hour parking.

The original Calgary gourmet cupcake store has just reopened in an expanded space. This allows them to expand their repertoire into beautiful cakes, fun bars, and cookies. Their cupcakes are not any better than their competitors(would like filled centered), but they are also trying to hit the breakfast market opening at 8am, with tasty scones and a coffee pop-up for the next few months. I particularly liked the light, slightly crumbly texture of the cheddar scone, the salty sharp cheese complemented by a bit of pepper. This new line-up provides an alternative the to the regular coffee houses of Kensington.

I’ve actually never had a more pedantic attempt at a cupcake– other than the tragedies I make for myself from time to time. It’s very shocking to me that others have rated this company so well, I found the cupcakes themselves to be very bland and boring, the icing which is of course the important part of the cupcake was at best ‘grocery store’ quality… a basic sugar icing that contained very little flavour. All in all I can’t give it a 1⁄5 since the cupcakes didn’t make me sick. Of course the price is insanely high, which if the cupcakes were tasty then that might well be acceptable– of course as I mentioned you can pick up better at any store or even make better at home. Very disappointing.

I am not a huge fan of sweets but I do every once in a while get the urge for something. I tried the cuipcakes and was pleasantly surprised! Good balance of icing and cake. Will definitely return again.

Freshly made cupcakes with a good variety of flavors. I’m a fan of the mini cupcakes so that I can get a little taste of each flavor. I have a weakness for the peanut butter and chocolate.

This Torontonian lived in Calgary for several years and experienced the awesomeness that is Crave. Moved back to Toronto… have yet to find something as delectable and miraculous as a Crave cupcake. I heart their signature chocolate cupcake with blue icing. Red velvet is also another great treat. I received a 6 pack as a surprise gift. The lemon lime cuppy was a nice treat. Crave — please open up shop in Toronto. PLEASE!

Gorgeous and Decadent cupcakes. I find that a tad too sweet for my taste, but I do indulge in a red-velvet every so often.

We recently moved to Calgary and we were excited to try out Crave Cupcakes, as we had heard so many good things. And to be honest, it was just… a-ok. We bought two cupcakes — lime something and vanilla coconut. The icing was delicious, the cupcakes were beautiful but the cupcakes were DRY! I don’t mean, «hum… this would go really well with some tea,» I mean, this thing is dry and HARD. I’ll probably try it one more time, but dry cupcakes? NOT cool, yo.

Let me start out by saying, I’m not really into cupcakes. They’re just not my thing, but I read some rave review while visiting the city and figured I’d check them out. AMAZING cupcake, it’s been a few years and its my best Calgary memory.

DON’T EATTHECUPCAKES! As a lot of the other reviewers have said, these cupcakes are more addictive than anything you have ever tried and you won’t be able to quit. The only thing preventing me from eating these cupcakes 24⁄7 is that I live far enough away. Some people would argue that they are too expensive as well, but it’s like paying for a good steak/coffee. The cupcakes produced by Crave are easily the best cupcakes I’ve ever had and could ever hope to create. Seriously, go buy some of these right now.

I have mixed feelings about Crave cupcakes. The cupcakes are gorgeous. There’s something beautiful and decadent about how they’re decorated, and it speaks to my inner foodie in positive ways. Yet, I find the mounds of icing on top of the cupcakes to make them a stitch too sweet – and this is coming from someone who has a prominent sweet tooth. I think in order to enjoy crave you have to be in the mood for something extremely sweet, and that represents an extreme treat on your radar. If that’s the case, then Crave is the place for you!

FABULOUS!!! I’ve always been a crave fan, before I knew I was a celiac. Then I found that out and my love for cute little cupcakes subsided. Then recently my friend brought over mini gluten free cupcakes from Crave!!! Yes. So for her birthday we were going out and I figured there would be nothing I could eat for dessert, plus she shares her birthday with her bf so she was going to get him a cake and was sad she didn’t get one. I know you need to pre-order gluten free usually and they were so awesome to deal with. I was even able to get custom canary yellow icing. And for a dozen mini gluten free with custom icing was about $ 30, which in my opinion isn’t bad. I will definitely be a long standing customer, they are epic.

These are a staple treat for my cake loving co-workers’-birthdays, new babies, goodbyes, you-are-about-to-have-major-surgery celebrations… if cake can be included in any office event, it usually comes in the form of cupcakes from Crave. I’ve not really a cake person and I don’t really have a sweet tooth. But I have to say these cupcakes are pretty tasty. I love the mini ones as they are just enough cake to icing to make for a quick little bite. I am a fan of the peanut butter chocolate ones. Red velvet is okay but I still haven’t caught on to what the fuss is all about over all the other flavours. Today I tried a carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese icing. To. Die. For. I even managed to convince myself it was healthier than everyone else’s due to the carrot factor. My only beef with Crave is that they are a little pricey for what they are selling. But considering I am rarely paying I guess I can’t complain. Also, on the regular sized cupcakes I find there is just a bit too much icing for my taste.

If you like cupcakes, you will like crave! I love the whoopie pies, I really do! I also think their cupcakes are a great splurge to bring into the office, cupcakes really seem to make everyone happy! If you are planning to pick up a dozen I suggest placing an order(if you walk in and hope to get an awesome selection, you might not as some flavours sell out quick!).
