I am so very unimpressed. I went to get a bunch of produce for Pickling, canning and jamming. Within a few days most of what I bought was bad. I have never ever had produce go bad that fast. I wasted a ton of money and I have spoken with some others and they say the same thing. The staff was rude at the til and acted like she had much better things to do, very unfriendly and snarky. What a waste!!! Plus WAY over priced.

The Cherry Pit rocks! The reason why I love this little place so much is for its imports. Seriously, there is fruit that you can buy there, that I haven’t seen anywhere else. For example, over the years, I have bought hard-to-find fruits such as fresh figs and my most recent find there was two different kinds of passionfruit. If a fruit is in season, 9 out of 10 times I find it there as opposed to anywhere else. That to me, is what makes the Cherry Pit unique. Other than that, it is hit and miss on whether it is the best pricing or not. But overall, if you want to make one stop only for your produce, it is almost a guarantee the Cherry Pit is the only stop you will need to make.

The Cherry Pit is a big produce stall in the Currie Barracks Farmers Market. It’s a favourite of mine cuz it’s right at the entrance, so it’s ideal for a quick«in n out». Why wade through the crowded market when the Cherry Pit has everything I need? Also, they offer payment by debit — a definite perk, as many of the other businesses within the Farmer’s Market are cash only. The Cherry Pit has a vast selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, and a modest selection of modest herbs available near the checkout. My lady can’t get enough of their baby tomatoes and green beans because they’re so much fresher than the stuff being peddled by the big supermarket chains. Fresher, and more expensive, but you get what you pay for at the Cherry Pit which is really all you can ask for from your produce provider.
