Bun On the Run

I stopped in at Bun on the Run today for the first time not knowing what to expect. From the other reviews my expectations weren’t that high.
The place is pretty dated, but well kept and clean. You can tell the owners really take pride in the cleanliness of the dining area. I’ve seen places that were only a year old with more dirt and grime than this place. The menu board could have been a bit easier to understand and the flow of entry could have been better (cash register is at the end)
What really shines is the value and quality of the food. The food isn’t going to win any awards but it is a no frills, good value for your money experience. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with Caesar salad and a can of pop. The bill came out to less than $ 8 after tax.
The grilled cheese was good, no surprises, but hey, for a $ 5.50 sandwich who cares? Also, the couple who runs the place are really friendly. I will be back for sure.

I tend to stop by here every so often due to the proximity of this resto in a more or less industrial section of the NE. It’s basically a greasy spoon, that carries all the usual diner lunch and breakfast fair from eggs and bacon to cheeseburgers.
It’s not the most fancy place, and in fact, it does look kinda run down, but much like most of these places, it’s owned and operated by an honest hard working couple who do their best to give a reasonably good value breakfast overall. As such, I try to throw them some breakfast business once a month.
$ 5 is enough to have a decent breakfast of eggs and bacon. It isn’t fancy, but it’s filling and a decent start to the day for those who are around the area and not in the mood for the Denny’s or Perkins thing. They usually have a couple of copies of the Sun lying around, and is quiet enough to have a peaceful breakfast without the endless musak or radio tunes playing in the background.

most things are decent here though a few things are excellent. the Beef Dip I had here on a regular basis for nearly 2 years and was one of the best I’ve ever had though it does have it’s off days I would recommend it on most days though.
it is a little greesy and they have been raising the prices so I don’t go there as often anymore since it started to cost a bit too much for lunch. But still not a bad place to eat if you are around at lunch or breakfast.
