Only place to go If you want a perfect haircut everytime. Wendy is so accommodating and will always get me in on short notice. It’s a fun place to come and have my 30 min haircut. Definitely worth a try.

I actually come here to use the corner salon for Lynn from Blue Lava who has rented out a small section in the back. The rest of the salon looks nice and people seem happy to go there. My go to lady Lynn has been doing my hair for 10 years and she is awesome. She is so zen that she makes everything okay. She listens to my needs of how I want my hair and has the balls to tell me if something can’t or won’t work. She’s always bleached my hair safely to ensure healthy roots and no breakage. Cost is the same as everywhere else.

Great service and friendly staff. I really like the salon cause I get a great cut that is fast, affordable and looks good.

Came here to get my hair bleached and coloured blue teal. I sent Maria a picture of what I wanted a week in advance of the appointment. When I went there for my appointment and post-​bleach, all of a sudden she told me they ran out of teal and she mixed a little green. Okay, I just went with it as I had no choice.
My hair came out green as hell and she said that if in a few days after rinsing it a few times I decided I didn’t like it, she would colour it again for free. I did as she said and still didn’t see the green coming off to show the blue. I set up an appointment for Saturday to avail of the free service in order to correct the error. One the day of, she messaged me if I was going to bring my own hair dye. I said no but I can totally pick something up. She said no worries, they have some. I came in and got my hair done. The result was only a slight change, from light green to a darker, not as bright green. I wasn’t 100% happy with it but hey, stuff happens. People don’t always get it right and she at least tried to correct her previous mistake for free of charge.
I went to the counter so I could tip her and all of a sudden she asked me for $ 65? She clarified that it was HER SERVICE that was free, but not the colour. She never mentioned the distinction when we talked face to face or through text. So I paid extra $ 65 to get my hair a little bit darker? There were so many opportunities to inform me that ONLY the service was free, and not the blue colour, which was meant to fix her mistake. If I had know, I would have just brought my own colour for her to apply. But I wasn’t even given the chance because she, intentionally or not, didn’t tell me that she would be charging me for the colour. I basically paid for a colour to correct someone else’s mistake.
Horrible ethics and transparency was not to be found.

Overall presentation of this salon was spectacular, no doubt about it. Great furniture, decent music, fun staff, the works I would highly recommend if you’re this establishment if you’re in the neighborhood and need some work done on your hair. I myself came in for a brazilian wax, my third one ever, but first time at this location, would not recommend. Although the lady was very good at setting a comforting mood, my overall results didn’t live up to the standards up past experiences. Usually, one would be given a moment in privacy to freshen up and arrange ones belongings, but this was not so. The process seemed a bit rushed as well, though her conversation was very relaxed and we’ll flowing, I didn’t feel as though things were done in detail and my results speak for themselves, I now have torn patches on my skin as well as neglected areas… Overall, I wouldn’t return here for this service.

I am a long-​time client of Planet Hair, and I love the atmosphere, the friendly staff and the amazing service that they provide there. Wendy is a super hard worker and she is so talented… it amazes me that even if she is super busy, she always manages to fit in one or two walk-​ins by multitasking and by having her girls pick up the slack with washing and drying if there are people waiting! I always refer friends to Planet Hair

Planet hair is te best! I’ve been going there for 12 years to get my regular haircut with good reason! Wendy over there is a sweetheart and the rest of the staff are also very friendly. For guys, count on getting a great cut in a short amount of time. No waiting around like other salons! For ladies all my female friends that go here are always happy too! Need a fresh change then give Planet Hair a try!

Recently relocated from her Commercial Drive location, my go-​to esthetician has moved to my North Burnaby neighborhood. Rita’s new home is a cozy, comfortable room at Planet Hair studio. I can tell you that Rita is AMAZING. She is lightening fast (which is a plus for the more painful waxing procedures) and completely thorough. I have never been disappointed with a service from Rita. She is charming and always a treat to talk to. And I especially love it that she remembers my husband’s name and to ask after my coworkers (who are also addicted to Rita’s services). And she doesn’t mind accommodating my stroller and infant son on those days when I can’t get a break from being a mom. I’ve only tried the waxing services, but she also offers manicures and pedicures which I’m sure are great.
As if great services weren’t enough, Rita offers an incredible value. most services I’ve had are a third to half the price I’ve paid for a similar service at other local salons!
