I came here last year to get a nice office sweater for a holiday party and for a few nice work office blouses. The stitching is weak, therefore, don’t expect these clothes to last long. Over priced sometimes based on quality.

On Friday, June 27 I purchased over $ 150.00 worth of items from this location. One of the items was a black blouse marked down from $ 39.95 to $ 19.99. When I got home I realized I had been charged full price for the blouse. On Sunday, June 29 at approximately 4:15pm my husband and I returned to the store to rectify the discrepancy. The ladies who were on staff at the time informed us that they were unable to process the refund without the manager. They also mentioned that their manager had left the store; they didn’t have her number and didn’t know where she was. They then asked if we wouldn’t mind returning in 30 minutes. When we said no, they then said it would only be a 10 minute wait. We became frustrated and left. We returned the next day, Monday, June 30 at around 11:30am. The manager then proceeded to tell me(I am paraphrasing) that she was doing me a favour by giving me store credit. If I hadn’t waited so long to bring the blouse back that MAYBE she could have done something. Mentioned that the shirt had either been wrongly labelled by them or someone had switched tags(which I took as her insinuating that I had put a $ 19.99 sticker on the item). And that people are entitled to breaks and then argued with us about what time we had been there on the Sunday. After more back and forth, she finally did the right thing and refunded me the difference owed to me. The entire incident left an awful taste in my mouth. I’ve been shopping at La Château since the 1990’s. I’ve enjoyed supporting Canadian made garments. Unfortunately, after basically being accused of switching tags and being blamed for not noticing the cashiers mistake sooner(by the way, on both the Sunday and Monday we had no other business at Brentwood except this shirt ordeal, we went out of our way to go back to the store twice). I will not shop at Le Château ever again. I’d recommend always having someone on site who is able to do all jobs, honor your prices and arguing with clients over $ 20 is not worth losing a customer.

I made the mistake of buying a shirt here and the returned it. I couldn’t get a full refund so they gave me a store credit which expires after a few months. Well thanks for the limitations. So I’ve been back a few times to try and use it up but their fashions suck, nevermind the poor quality. with a week to go I figured I’d just get a pair of jeans… should be simple enough but all the jeans come in one length. why would i pay money and waste time having them hemmed when I can go to a dozen of other stores that have the length I need. What a mickey mouse operation.
