another store closed down at metrotown. so expensive even on clearance sales items. may be that’s why.

Solid 3.5, located ground level kitty corner to Le Château. Actually, has got to be one of the nicer, less cluttered compared to a Bath & Beyond. I come here more for their kitchen stuff. Picked up a few trinkets like their onion holder, shaped like, what do you know it, an onion. Usually I would seram wrap the leftovers so we’ll see… more like a novelty item, probably would hide my sweets in here anyways lol.

Why doesn’t this location get a hate on so much. I love this store, especially the food section with cool unique and upscale-ish(or trying to be) culinary delights. They have a good sale section. I will agree that most things are all over the place, however, it really isn’t as bad as people say in terms of selection. I will agree that the customer service could use some improving. I stop in here when I am in the mall to get some cute seasonal baking stuff.

My Experience based on letters exchanged between us: MYLETTER: Hello, I saw on our receipt that you welcome feedback so here it is. We are looking for a new set of high quality sheets and a duvet cover. We walk in and went past several staff, and only one said hello. The merchandising in the bedding section is very very poor. Trust me! It was hard to actually make a purchase and the selection, colour wise was was poor as well. So we found some items and went to the till. The wait was unacceptable and when we got rung up your associate asked for 5 cents for a bag. We both looked at each other and were flabbergasted. Seriously a linen store should be giving a free environmentally safe linen bag for free on a purchase of $ 363.96. She waived the stupid fee but the damage was done. Once we got home we not only were not inclined to use the really wanted new sheets but we said that a return is needed. I spent over a $ 1000 today on merchandise and got exceptional customer service everywhere! NOT at your store. ] Regards P.S We spent $ 50 at my butcher today. He gave me a FREE reusable linen bag… You should be ashamed… THEREREPLY Thank you for taking the time to email Home Outfitters Customer Support. Please allow me to provide you some of the background on plastic bag charges. Following our successful market pilots in the Winnipeg Home Outfitters made a decision to begin charging a $ 0.05 fee per plastic shopping bag in support of the Environment. Many retailers in the Greater Toronto Area(GTA) were the first in Canada to begin charging this fee due to a municipal by-law, which came into effect in June, 2009. As a result of this change, plastic bag consumption in this market has been reduced by more than 50%. Many other retailers across Canada have already begun charging plastic shopping bag’ fees in their stores(ahead of any legislative requirements). Those retailers include, most grocery stores, IKEA and Sears in certain markets. We expect that many others will make the change in late 2010 through early 2011. More and more Canadian municipalities are preparing to legislate that retailers(in their specific markets) charge this fee for plastic bags. Similar to the Toronto market, they hope to discourage the use of these bags(so that they do not end up in landfills) and encourage reuse and recycling wherever possible. Upon reviewing feedback we receiving from our pilot stores(including customer reaction to the fee), it was determined that most of our customers were receptive to the idea because they believed it was the right thing to do for the environment. … That being said — we always welcome feedback from customers and take all opinions into consideration for our decision making. We apologize for the service that you received in one of our locations and would like to direct your concern to the Store Manager to contact you and discuss this with you further. If you could please reply to this email with the name of the Home Outfitters you were visiting, we will then forward your issue on to the them. Regards MYREPLY Hello I do not think you got the point of my letter. I am not so much ticked about the bag charge as I am about the fact your lack class(provide reusable bags) and the service we got was horrible. Seriously a 5 cent per bag pilot project? Get Real! When I buy hundreds of $$ in linen I expect better than that… IF you read my letter you’d understand that this is a poor, poor way to conduct business… Very tacky. I got a LINEN bag for free when I went to my butcher, the same day and for only a $ 50 purchase. Its called MARKETING! The location was Metrotown in Burnaby I also expect to hear from a District Manager as i find this letter insulting. So far this company lacks any class, its not about the bag. Its about the principle… Its like buying a piece of jewellery and having it put in a bag instead of a box. They failed. Period.

The only redeeming quality about this place is its prices. I’ve been here twice and had a hard time finding anything trying to pick through the piles of stuff. It was like shopping in a thrift store some of the stuff was so disarranged. The nail in the coffin in the last time I went today was the lineup that was over 50 people long for the 3 – 4 cashiers. We left our stuff and walked out.

I was registered at this Home Outfitters and it was a pretty«meh» experience, overall. I did have one pleasant encounter early on with a young woman who was warm and super enthusiastic about my engagement, sharing that in her culture they didn’t do wedding registries, but that she wished they did. Unfortunately, none of the other employees measured up to the first one. When my wife and I came back to pick up gifts as they came in, the employees were never very friendly. What’s worse is that it took forever for some gifts to come in after people ordered them for us, which delayed us from thanking them in a timely manner. Another thing that really bothered me about the Home Outfitters registry experience was that they called us to tell us that guests were coming in to shop and were complaining that we didn’t have enough on our registry and then encouraged us to come in to register for more. Almost all of our guests were from out of the country so I highly doubt that they were coming in a month before the wedding and complaining about our registry. Would Home Outfitters stoop to lying to us to get us to register for more?
