Try the Portuguese corn bread, awesome plain right out of the bag. If you get their in the morning it will still be warm.

The customer service is great here along with the atmosphere. Their coffee is awesome just like their freshly baked goods! If you love spicy salami, they have the best gypsy salami ever. I can’t find it anywhere but at fortuna! I definitely recommend it!

It’s really hard to describe to someone who hasn’t experienced it how tasty a fresh Portuguese bun is. In my opinion this place is best for them. I’m lucky to live close to this place now but I meet people from all over Vancouver coming to this place to get their scratch made buns. So so good

I love this bakery. They sell delicious sausage rolls, little pizzas, roast chicken, pasteries and best of all sandwiches! I don’t think its on the menu but a co worker recommend I order it. I always get two types of deli meat of any kind and cheese of my choice along with mayo and mustard. For only $ 4.00 you get a sandwhich stuffed with meat and cheese it’s soooooo good! And the ladies who work there are friendly too, especially the blonde older lady doesn’t talk much but always stuff so much meat in the sandwiches for everyone, you are awesome.

Located in the heart of Burnaby Heights, Fortuna Bakery bakes up some of the freshest pastries and bread in town! Ever watch those Food Network shows where the chef/cook takes a stroll into a bakery and finds the perfect loaf for their dinner meal? You can be that culinary star! As you enter through the glass doors, you are greeted by a variety of breads and pastries. Among my favourites are their French bread, corn bread, and Portuguese buns. To the left, you’ll find shelves and fridges full of spices, canned fish, sauces, cheeses and cold cuts. I’m eagerly awaiting the next time I cook up a storm because I know I can rely on Fortunate Bakery for the freshest breads. I absolutely love this place!

This place has fantastic bread — Portuguese bread rolls are soft and delicious, and often so warm that the staff won’t put them in plastic bags due to condensation. The Portuguese corn bread is spectacular(try it toasted). I’m also very fond of their cake squares — tiger, brownies etc. Also, a nice little deli, and a good place to buy Portuguese cheese, and grocery items such as olive oil and sardines.

Amazing bakery for buns and yummy desserts! They also have a nice selection of Portuguese beverages(Sumol) which are kinda pricey but nice for a treat. They actually have pretty good sandwich meat which is very reasonably priced. Some are around $ 1 for 100 grams which is much cheaper than Safeway which is always so expensive. Their buns are to die for. I always end up eating them all in a couple of days only! Love this place!

The best baguette I found in greater Vancouver area. You will also find freshly baked buns and bread. They also have a great selection of other yummy treats. Chocolate loaf is a must have. On weekends, I go from Yaletown to Burnaby just for this place.

The best place to pick up some fresh portuguese buns! They’re so soft in the inside but perfectly crusty on the outside. A cute little portuguese bakery, but I am not sure they have those little portuguese sweets like in Portugal. They do make an awesome round loaf of a kind of sweet bread which tastes great with nutella. They also had some delicious portuguese chorizos during Hats Off Day. They make cakes etc.
