When i walked in the door i felt immediately at ease and calm. The establishment is aesthetically pleasing to the senses with art work, plants, books, leather furniture and soft colored lights all strategically placed. Its clean(including the restroom), comfortable, spacious and has a loft like feel with the chill-out-after room in the upstairs. I was greeted by one of the pleasant owners, Randy who offered a pair of slippers they provide and gave me a tour and instructions on the process of using the flotation tank. The flotation tank room, has it own personal shower stall with all the necessary things to get one through the process. soaps, towels, robe, ear plugs, q-tips, vaseline, a pool noodle if you need extra support under your head/neck and a water spray bottle(in case you get the salt water into your eyes, which believe me you, you never want to do! After you have showered and turn off the main light(there is a dim outer green one which allows you just enough light to be able to climb in the tank). Once you get in and settled, accustomed to all the feelings and sensations(i love when the salt dries on your skin and leaves a crusty feeling on the skin), the darkness, the warmth of the water on your skin, the fact you are floating on tons of salt, its a magical feeling and what you make of the next 90 minutes is your own personal journey relaxing in a meditative state of mind. After the float there are a few toiletries in the washroom for use such as a moisturizer, a hair dryer, hair gel, a comb, contact solution and feminine hygiene products. I recommend journeying upstairs and relaxing with a tea and reading through one of their books called The book of Floating. Again this room is comfortable and has a zen like feeling with aesthetically pleasing items such as a table top water fountain, Buddha head statue, candles, art work, plants and a TV. I highly recommend this location, check out their different priced packages on their website Enjoy the saltitude!

This was my first time trying a float tank and was very intrigued to find out how this worked. I suffer from headaches, migraines, and back pain from time-to-time. I was suffering from stiff neck pain on the day I came here. Float Sense is located in Burnaby, very close to Metrotown. When I entered the spa, a polite gentleman introduced himself and asked me if I was a first-time floater or an experienced floater. When he found out I was a first time floater, he explained everything to me and was very patient with all my questions. He asked me to take off my shoes and I changed into a pair of slippers they provided. He took me around and showed me the place, and brought me to my sensory tank room. Inside the room was a flotation tank, a shower stall with shampoo, body wash and conditioner, several towels, and a robe. Near the tank were ear plugs(in case you wanted to float with ear plugs to avoid the water getting in your ears), vaseline, and a water spray bottle(in case you rub the salt water into your eyes). I learned that we first use the shower to clean our bodies, then enter the water au naturel(ie, without swimwear). As I got into the water, I was pleasantly surprised that it was warm. It was very buoyant and I automatically floated since the staff said it was full of epsom salt! The water has a silky smooth texture to it, so it was like lying on a heavenly water bed. The tank was spacious, clean, and had lots of room. I paddled slowly up and down the pod for a few seconds out of sheer curiosity. For the first 15 — 20 minutes, I was shifting quite a bit since this was such a new experience for me. While floating on my back, I realized that my body had to «learn» to relax. I didn’t realize how tense I was, until my body and limbs started to loosen up further into my float. I had the ear plugs on, and closed my eyes for most of the time. I occasionally opened my eyes to look out the tank door. My room was set on the dimmest light — a serene aqua-ish green light that you can control for its bright/dim setting. For the rest of my session, I relaxed and let my mind wander. I imagined myself to be a time lord or cosmic traveler flying through the universe. Then I imagined myself to be an astronaut, then an underwater mermaid. The point is to stay awake and relaxed while maintaining a thoughtless state. My thoughts started to drift away near the middle of the session because I ran out of things to think about. I sometimes focused on the feel of the silky water along my fingers, arms, and legs. It was an incredibly relaxing feeling. The light heat of the water was helping my muscles to relax because I could feel the tension melt away — I felt like I was melting into the water. The cue for my session being over was when peaceful music gently came on inside the tank. As I got out, I was shocked to feel that the muscle stiffness and neck pain were gone! Usually, when I go for massages, it takes days to a week for the stiffness to go away. But the neck pain was gone after this 90 minute healing float. After I got out, I showered and then headed out to enjoy a cup of complimentary tea/water provided by the staff. The staff didn’t push me to get a membership and were very welcoming with teaching me more about float therapy and its benefits. It was a rejuvenating and magical experience. I highly recommend you to come visit Float Sense and enter a peaceful voyage in their sensory deprivation tanks.

I am an avid float tank participant and have been to many companies/locations across greater vancouver. What sets«Float Sense» apart is the friendly/helpful staff, how clean and nicely spaced the rooms are, the fully enclosed shower, cleanliness of the rooms and facility itself. The tanks they have are the ones I prefer due to the spaciousness, perfection of water temperature and there are no plumbing like pipes to accidentally kick like other places I have gone to, the tank itself is very clean, neat and comforting while in use. A great offer of *$ 39 for a 90 minute* is unbeatable, others charge more or similar but less time in the sensory deprivation tank. My experiences in the tank are always incredible, pure relaxation, heals my muscle and joint pains, it even healed up reactions of the skin and I also slightly hallucinated a few times, array of colours and absolute bliss, you feel rejuvenated, inspired, clear minded and when you exit and enter the real world, heavenly like sense of being. As of now, «Float Sense» will be my fairly new location for serenity, I highly recommend everyone to try out the tank and«Sense» is definitely(in my opinion) the best spot to do so. Sensory deprivation is great for physical and mental health, equivalent to the best massage you ever had, the staff is awesome and actually care about you’re experience and do not push you for membership, packages with bombardment

Very clean and the staff(2 co-owners) are very down to earth and knowledgeable. Floating helps me feel love from the universe and calms feelings of anxiety, fear and irrational thinking. it helps me be positive and gives me energy to wake up early which I haven’t had in a long time. good for strengthening immune system and meditation. spiritual and physical benefits. I recommend this to everyone, whether you have chronic pain, anxiety and depression, addiction problems, want to be more happy and positive, or have more energy and be more at peace. Life can be very hard, give yourself a break!
