I ran into their great reviews here and had bookmarked them for a while until I finally got a chance to go find the place(which is a bit hidden, but nothing that Google maps can’t find). It’s really great to know that their main focus is on the community, so their drinks and foods are inexpensive and they run many community-focused activities. Drinks are good, some pastry selection of regular and health — conscious ones. Learn more about them here:

Many businesses have come and gone in this space. For years it was a video store, but with the demise of videos a few different types of shops(including a green grocer/coffee shop) gave it a go without success. Some suffered because of the location, others because of poor business sense. For a long time it sat empty, until finally Connections revitalized the space and created a welcoming hub for the neighbourhood. The volunteers who run the place are great, the drinks and treats are inexpensive and good quality, and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. It also hosts all sorts of special events: movie nights; karaōke; holiday-themed family-friendly parties; and so on. It’s a great place to hang out and read the paper or go online using the free wifi while the kids play with the wide selection of games and toys. If only more neighbourhoods had their own little Connections Coffee House!

Nestled between 3 little shops and under an apartment complex lies a nice quiet coffee house that serves $ 2 lattes. We ordered a cappuccino($ 2 for 12 oz) and was not disappointed. It was flavourful and served with a nice kick of caffeine. We will very likely come back since our experience with the servers were great, coupled with the relaxing and inviting atmosphere.

Sitting in a coffee shop, therefore, taking the time to clear out some of the drafts that have been sitting in my inbox for 4 months of local reviews in attempt to reduce my list one at a time(I have over 60 drafts). I saw this reviewed on the front page of Unilocal on April 9th and decided to give this a go for myself. Just a fair warning that this place is very very hard to find. I felt like giving up at least 3 times even though I printed a map. I was supposed to meet a friend, however, maps don’t show you hills and with his condition the hills were a little tough for him, therefore, did this solo. That didn’t stop me from having an art day for one. For starters I love how this is hidden away from obscurity. It is meant for the residents to make a connection with each other. The specialty drinks are $ 2 cash only which is very reasonable. The drinks are reasonable. I had a late sugar free and a London Fog to go, both sugar free and vegan. $ 4 for everything. If you’re in a mood for a slushie those are a $ 1. The place was very consistent for business given the location. The owner is awesome and friendly. He even went out of his way to give some alternative directions that weren’t so hilly so that my friend could join me next time. Very awesome, no pressure place to do my art. I felt comfortable chilling and doing my art. There is a kids corner for kids to play and some board games for a more communal setting. They have some gluten free treats at a reasonable price that I need to try next time. Even though this place is totally out of the way for me, there will be a next time.

I stopped by this coffee shop because of the reviews I read on Unilocal. Cute little coffee shop and friendly service. All the coffee and baked good items are very reasonably priced. I got a chai latte. It tasted alright. Not the best out there that I have tried but very good for the $ 2 I paid! Free street parking which is a plus. It took awhile for me to find this location. It is near Brentwood Mall, but I was driving and needed help from my google maps to find this place.

Fantastic little café that is constantly giving back to their community. As a non profit heir prices are unbelievably reasonable($ 1 regular coffees, $ 2 specialty). They often hold free community events such as BBQs, scavenger hunts and neighbourhood cleanups. Can’t say enough good about the place and the kind people that volunteer their time there to create a sense of neighbourhood… and a place to get great coffee cheaper than you’ll ever find elsewhere!

My mom had been here a few times so I came in with her. All coffee is $ 2 and espresso is only .50. Yes 50 cents and really good. I think its a non profit coffee shop run by a church. Also all baked goods only 1.50.
