I really like it here. The oven puts out killer fresh Lavash. Go with a group and try the sampler plates and dipping foods. The pizza is good but don’t go there just for pizza. Although dining for two will cost you more than with a group, similar to Indian food. The food really is delicious. The service is great. All in all the prices on some items might be a little high for the room. You wouldn’t be wrong for walking by it and thinking it was a little dumpy but don’t let that fool you. Last time I was there they were not licenced. That might have changed as they said they were trying. We drive from North Van to eat here.

Excellent first time experience with my family. Service was excellent. We had the Lamb Guvech and Lamb chops. They both tasted great! the lavash bread, to start, was baked nicely. Also had the lentil soup, which was very delicious – good to the last drop. We will be back to try out the oven pizza. That brick oven looks bad a**. P. s. We drove from East Van just to come and try this place out.

If I lived a little closer, I would eat here every weekend. As it is, I’m happy to drive 30 minutes in traffic down Kingsway to one of my favorite restaurants. I can’t get enough of the fresh dips and lavash bread. I love you, Anatolia!

Place is average at best, I wouldn’t exactly say the place is good or bad, Worn out furniture and table tops literally taped with duct tape. Worse even, The food was tasteless. All for the lovely price of $ 40 for two.

They are simply the best Turkish /Middle Eastern restaurant in BC. A must go to and enjoy place. I have now tried most of the items on their menu and it’s never let me down. Some items are pricey but still worth it.

The food here is so food! At first glance I thought it was just another wrap restaurant, but the selection food and taste is fantastic. Surprising little«hole in the wall». If you are in this area you should stop in and try one of their platters!

Back to Anatolia’s Gate — because there was a Meetup there tonight and my friend was interested in Turkish food, so I went with her. If you are in a group, the lavash bread that comes with your meal will also be communal! Meat Lovers Pide($ 11.95) Anatolia’s Ground Meat, Turkish Pastrami, tomatoes, cheese, egg –Quite small. Rather thin film of mixed meat. Either some spicing to the meat or it was the influence of the Turkish Pastrami. –Not that tasty to me, maybe because there was too little meat. –Meat portion is basically around $ 8 since the bread portion is probably about the same as a medium lavash bread. Overpriced. –If you don’t need the cheese, consider getting the lahmajun instead — more meat spread over a thin crust, $ 11.45 Chicken Curry($ 14.95) chicken breast chunks with curry sauce, rice, and salads; served with a freshly baked lavash bread and yogurt sauce –The curry here is strong and has some heat, but not too much. Very much not like an Indian curry, if that is what you are hoping for. –The salad of chopped tomatoes and chilies(possibly ezme — fresh tomatoes, parsley, onion, hot peppers, olive oil) is bitter and very spicy-hot, so watch out! Use the yogurt sauce to clear your palate if necessary — don’t blow it all on the lavash bread even though that tends to come very early. –Not quite as much chicken as pictured in the menu. –Big meal, so-so in taste. Felt maybe slightly overpriced for $ 14.95 but very filling because of the bowl of rice in the middle. Kofte Guvech($ 14.95) Anatolia’s Ground Meat balls with oven-roasted veggies, tomato sauce, and cheese baked in oven; served with lavash –Rather firm but still moist meatballs that merged together during baking. –Some sour stuff(pickles?) in the stew. –Looked like a smallish order for price. Service felt polite and attentive. When I sat down, almost right away someone came with water. When there were more of us, they brought over a carafe.

Under recent management change, this little gem is still firing up a feast. Wood fired breads, finely sliced and grilled meats Amazing variety of appetizers– just too many flavours to describe This is an old Favorite that thankfully made the rare transition from one head chef to next without missing a beat

The food is incredible and authentic, and the freshly made lavash bread is to die for. Keep in mind the servers are also the chefs so sometimes the service can be a bit slow. I don’t mind as the food well but makes up for it!

My wife and I basically just went to this place because it is one of the very few restaurants near our new house. They really weren’t much for presentation(though the open flames in the oven were impressive). The menu didn’t make the food look that great and the décor is a bit tacky. But the staff were numerous and friendly so we settled in and tried to decipher the menu. Never having eaten Turkish food before we tentatively ordered some stuff that looked like it might not be too awful. Well, long story short the food was absolutely wonderful. I don’t know what most of it was but had a shared plate and were soon fighting over who was going to finish off what glob of yumminess. We’ve been back twice since and order the same plate of randomity each time. We will be bringing friends here for sure! So great place, reasonable price… but maybe improve the menu guys…

Price is a bit on the high side but the food is generally pretty consistent here. As far as authenticity goes, my Turkish counterparts can vouch for them as well.

Great food! We went with a friend from Turkey who was very impressed — his exact words were that it was«legit». I LOVED the lahmajun. The lavash and humus were also excellent. The meat Pide was also tasty and the rice was delicious. Cool atmosphere — great value and super fast service! I would go again.

Most of the food tastes good. Ali baba tasted really bland, but cost $ 11. Prices per item are slightly expensive than quantity. Ayran tastes good. Lavash is so fresh! Though, lunch for two with moderate appetites costs $ 50.

I adore this restaurant. It is important to know your crowd if bringing guests. I have seen people leave when finding out there is no alcohol served. The Wood oven is beautiful and the Turkish lavash bread is so delicious and fun to share. I prefer the dishes that are cooked in the oven. The sides are colourful and delicious. Appetizers depend on individual tastes but if you enjoy garlic, vinegary and lemony mediterranean tastes you will enjoy most choices. Experiment! The staff is friendly, hard working and kind. The ambience is simple and not on the luxurious side. The food is the standout here. The portions are huge.

Vancouver needs more restaurants like this. This place has everything your palate is craving and beyond. You are greeted by a couple of nice fellas who are very hard working and are passionate about what they do. I had the Beef Iskander and I’ve returned almost on a daily basis now to get it all the time. The lavash bread that comes with the meal is heavenly. Big puffy soft and hot doughy goodness that is cooled off as you dip it in a divine youghurt Turkish dip. The beef is beyond juicy and the flavours of spices explode in your mouth. They also serve this with some white rice but have managed to somehow even make the white rice taste unique and delicious. The salads you get with it are some sort of carrot salad which is delicious and their amazing red cabbage salad. Washed the meal off with a coke and payed a cool $ 35 for two people and an enjoyable evening. Keep up the good work!

The service was good. Except for the few missing drinks that were accidentally charged but corrected later on. Really liked the Lavash bread and Hummus. Soft and crispy with a hint of butter. Hummus was smooth and had the right amount of garlic. Overall I wouldn’t go back out of my way just for the lamb. The pictures are nothing like the food that came out. The Iskender Kebabs are nice and hearty. not chewy. The lamb tandur however was bit dry and Petite for my liking. Pictures showed a large lamb hock on the bone which made me think there was an ample amount of lamb meat. Good on the salad which was loaded with onions(I love onions) and the pickled cabbage was bit sour for me but made the dish pop out in terms of colors.

Anatolia’s Gate is probably the only Turkish restaurant in the lower mainland. I’ve lived in Turkey for a couple of years so I was really excited to try their food. The ambience of Anatolia’s is okay but can definitely use improvements. The food is impressive. The fresh bread tasted really good. The price for what we got wasn’t really what I was expecting. Definitely on the expensive side for what they’re serving. The restaurant is fairly dirty and definitely needs a good mop. We could see mud all over the corners and our table and chairs had stains on them. I am not sure if I’ll be going back.

Loved their lavash bread! Waiter gave an extra piece for free when asked. Lamb was a little under seasoned but overall food was decent. Portion was a little on the smaller side and price is a bit on the more expensive side. Servers were nice but was hard to get a hold of them. Atmosphere felt like a cafeteria and could use an updating on décor. Metered street parking unless you can find free street parking nearby.

Exciting place to be as you can see most of the food preparation… Service was good. I might go back again to enjoy the food.
