We ordered ‘make your own’ entrée with rice, lemon grass chicken with salad and seafood phở. The lemon grass chicken tasted amazing but the portion was so small! The seafood phở came with squid, shrimp, noodles and imitation crab. The portion was just right but the broth was SWEET!!! I had to ask for extra lime to kill the sweetness. I give this place 3 stars while my friend rolls her eyes in disbelief — she said 1 star is proper. ‘You should have tasted the fried egg roll to understand what I meant.“ Well I’m giving them 3 stars. I like the décor, the server was nice and the bean sprout was fresh.

I’m giving this place 2 stars only because a few of our friends said their dinner was very tasty. And I quite liked their chicken wings. We had a very poor experience though. Total gong show. We walked in a week ahead and spoke w/the owner in regards to holding a 15 person bday party. No problems we were told. We even called a couple days ahead to confirm. 3 of us & our little one arrived a few minutes early. The waitress took our kids drink order & didn’t even ask us if we wanted anything. That was the theme for the night. She would do one thing at a time. It was seriously crazy. The bday girl is vegan & we have a couple vegetarians in the group. When they ordered 1 spring roll &1 salad roll it was very clear they wanted veggie only. They even said no fish sauce. They brought out 2 salad rolls one w/meat & one w/out. So they took the meat one back & brought out another vegi salad roll instead of the spring rolls. They let her know right away. After 25 min we asked if the spring rolls are coming. she finally brings them out. One bite they can tell. Beef! Unreal. They didn’t take them away or bring out veggie ones. We gave up. They were way understaffed. Which ticks me off as they had plenty of notice. Maybe they’re better w/smaller parties but if the girl can’t handle taking a 4 person drink order at once… Doubtful. Also, it was clear the birthday girl was vegan so they bring her out a dish with whip cream. Wth?!

Couldn’t say enough good things about this place. The owner is fabulous and truly values his customers. Food quality is top notch and service is always great. Anyone in the area must try! I always get the Saigon special

There is nothing I can say that did not meet or exceed my expectations, so I had to give it 5 stars. The atmosphere was great. The food was reasonably priced. The food was very good. And the service was wonderful.

Love little Saigon. The phở, salad rolls, peanut sauce, and Saigon special are dynamite. Best I’ve had anywhere!

When you think of good phở, you probably don’t picture Abbotsford, but that’s exactly where you’ll find a nice, steaming, authentic bowl of phở. The no-frills menu has all the main staples like meatball, rare beef, and beef brisket phở, but it doesn’t have items like tendon or tripe, perhaps because of the low demand out in the Fraser Valley. They were unfortunately out of the beef brisket when I went here, so I just had the rare beef. The owner himself came out to talk to us and was proudly describing how he makes his broth. He claims to use the most meat and bones in his broth than any other Vietnamese restaurant he knows. He also doesn’t use any MSG, which he says tends to make his soup a little blander than most phở broths, but he is hoping to be more health-conscious with his food. I thought the broth was very tasty, even without the MSG, and I probably could have drank the whole thing. I even thought it tasted better before I added the chili oil, which is also made from scratch in the restaurant(you can even buy a bottle from the restaurant, and the owner hopes to have the product in stores in upcoming months). We also tried the deep fried chicken wings, which were smothered in a delicious, spicy garlicky sauce. My only complaint about the wings was that they weren’t very meaty. Very good phở, and I like how he doesn’t use MSG without compromising on flavour. It’s too bad I live too far away to become a regular here!
