Great spot to have some drinks and enjoy the ocean view. Prices are not bad and the food is really good. Friendly staff and fast service.

The food is really fresh and well prepared. We come here in Sunday’s and have Churrasco Misto and a shirt pitcher of Sangria suave. The food is awesome! We have brought several guests here and they’ve also raved about the food as «really awesome». So… get the Churrasco Misto!

It is probably the first restaurant you’d bump into if you travel to Copacabana by Metro and then walk towards the beach taking the first street leading to it. The restaurant is situated on the corner by the street dividing the city and the beach right by the crossing to the beach. If you sit outside you can have a perfect view of the beach(leaving aside the cars passing by along the street). I happened to dine there twice and by the second time managed to become more knowledgeable about it. On the first occasion the place made an impression of a bit expensive and food wasting despite of a huge variety of dishes and excellent taste! Each of my fellow foodies was amazed how huge the dishes were and we all managed to eat only 1⁄3 of our meal. Which meant the rest has gone to waste. We all paid over 100 Brazilian Real(including a couple of beers) which was quite expensive. What turned out later on is that the restaurant serves dishes which are meant to be split between at least 2 – 3 people. I only found this out when dining there again with some locals. The waiting staff was not very forthcoming about this and not attentive altogether. However, if you know the actual situation and are happy to share this is the perfect place to dine in Copacabana. The steak in my photo is 1⁄3 of the whole steak by the way ;)

There’s nothing more complicated than walking around with a group of people from 5 different nations and looking for a suitable restaurant for dinner. Everybody wants something else, so there’s a real danger that you end up in a place fitting the smallest common denominator, making nobody totally unhappy but also nobody happy. Rondinella is a likely place for such a group. They have everything, from Brazilian steaks to seafood to pizzas, normally you would not go there but under these circumstances you do. In particular when you are invited, you don’t want to be a hassle. OK, Rondinella is at the Copacabana, nice ocean breeze, that’s likeable. Unbeatable location, and the cooks normally know that. As you look at the menu, you see giant pizzas and steaks being served to the neighbors and you wonder, there’s no page menus for two but can that be a normal portion? You decide to defy your doubts, be heroic and courageous, and order a good Brazilian steak. Argentinean wine, very delicious everybody keeps warning you of Brazilian wine, so nobody wants to try. When the dinner is served, all your fears come true. A friendly smiling and beautiful waiter serves you an enormous dish. You could feed three people with such a giant steak. Does beef mean dinosaur in Brazilian Portuguese? The fish for your neighbor is equally gigantic. Impossible to consume. But the most important question is well, the taste. It was a perfectly positive surprise. Smooth and intensive taste of the beef, wonderful vegetables, and it tastes so well that you end up eating almost everything even if you never believed you can eat such piles of food. The conversation however soon was less energetic than expected, everybody was so busy with eating and digesting that we decided all our arguments are actually not so important. And we all love Brazil. Smiling at the stars, at the ocean waves, at the people walking bychomp, chomp, chomp
