Found this spot right across the street from Venga and couldn’t find it on Unilocal. We had to go check it out. It was a Japanese restaurant that serves sushi and izakaya. The sushi was delicious, so if you can’t get that reservation at sushi Leblon, there’s two solid fallback restaurants(this and Togu) both just down the street. The presentation was excellent and the taste was great. We got the duplo of unagi(eel) and a specialty roll. We also ordered the salmon tartare which had a great presentation– a small column covered with roe and accompanied with crispy cassava chips. The yakisoba was a little disappointing and came with a over grilled dry and salty chicken fillet which was tough to eat. The worst part here unfortunately was the service. We had ordered a small 120mL bottle of sake for R$ 26 but the waitress brought it upon herself to open a bigger bottle since there were two of us. When we confronted her about it, she made it seem like the bottle was already opened. The bill came out to R$ 80 bottle, which was rather sneaky, since that wasn’t what we ordered. I think the worst part of thee service was that it took her nearly 30 minutes for her to bring us the check after we asked. Too bad, I thought this place could have potential. Guess next time we’ll just have it delivered.
