Bar do Beto

Nunca fui ao restaurante, acho muito cara de «pega turista» mas fui surpreendida hoje quando pedi para entregarem em casa um filé à parmegiana. Muito bom! Chegou rápido, quentinho, carne super macia. Porção enorme, comem 3 pessoas. Ou seja, continuo sem vontade de ir lá mas certamente pedirei em casa outras vezes!

The difference between staying at the Hotel InterContinental in São Paulo and the Best Western Sol Ipanema may be summed up in the recommendations made by the hotel staff/​concierge in each location. When in São Paulo I was directed to an upscale high end restaurant. In Rio, with sand on my feet when I inquired, I was directed to Bar do Beto. Neither recommendation was a letdown.
Bar do Beto was an easy choice for a party of 4 from the US. The menu wasn’t challenging and the food was quite satisfying. We probably could have found a better meal if we’d hunted around but something — actually everything — about this place just hit the spot. It had a nice, not fancy ambiance and made for a very comfortable dining experience. I don’t want to overuse the word «satisfying» but that’s what I think of when I conjure up my meal here.
To begin, use that Unilocal check-​in offer of a free Caipirinha. Unilocal is barely existent in Brazil and to find a place with a check-​in offer is a real treat. Then, to realize that the check-​in offer is good for a free drink for everyone in your party? Well, I don’t know if that’s what was supposed to happen but that’s what did happen so I hope your experience mirrors mine.
We shared several items here: a Seafood Pasta, a Pizza, and a Caprese Salad. The Pizza (with Portuguese sausage) was different than what one gets in the US, not better, but satisfying and tasty enough that it inspired me to order a second one. The Seafood Pasta, also quite decent, made for a nice dish to share.
The grand total of our dinner for 4, drinks and tip included, ran $ 62 which I hardly think is as expensive as the listing for this place makes it appear. In fact, I’d say it’s more like «$$$», not «$$$$» and, were it «$$$$» I’d certainly not have found it worthy of 4 stars. Did you follow all that?
If you’re looking for a satisfying meal and your concierge suggests Bar do Beto don’t shy away due to price. You and your family will enjoy the meal and leave feeling well fed and — here I go again — quite satisfied.

Not worth the free caipirinha, although it was pretty strong. I had the chicken with fettuccine and it was greasy and overcooked. There are lots of other places in Ipanema with better food for much less.

Took advantage of the Unilocal offer and enjoyed 2 free caipirinhas. After the drinks, the waiter brought out «Nosso Couvert» which we realized we would have to pay for. Apprehensive at first, turned out to be a great little appetizer before dinner. The couvert was 27reals and came with warm rolls, butter, olives, pickled onions, tuna dip, potato flakes, octopus confit in olive oil and toasted flat bread. The drinks were delicious and pretty strong.

Sabado é dia de Feijoada no Rio de Janeiro. E há mais de 20 anos que a feijoada do Bar do Beto se mantem entre as primeiras da nossa lista. Quando moravamos na Barra, saimos mais cedo da praia e dirigiamos ate Ipanema para comer aqui. Hoje, vizinhos, fica mais facil. Bem servida como sempre, da para ate tres pessoas. Tem a versao tradicional e a versao light (nobre?), ambas completas nos acompanhamentos (farofa, couve, torresmo, arroz e laranha) e claro, a batida de limao. Ambiente confortavel, com ar condicionado, o que vai muito bem com feijoada e a temperatura do Rio.

Si quieren comer la comida típica de Brasil, recomiendo este restaurant, es bastante sencillo pero el servicio y la comida compensan cualquier cosa. Soy de comer poco arroz y aquí me comí un arroz con queso azul divinoooooo! Genial… Los camarones esos enorrrrmes! Divino… Y la sangría uff… Recomendado

Bom ambiente e uma otima seleção de frutos do mar.
Recomendo a caldeirada de frutos do Mar ou a tradicional Feijoada carioca!
