This hotel(now a Mercure, formerly a Holiday Inn) had been a reliable standby for me for Brussels for while, in the Louise area. But somehow the re-branding and«refurbishment» have produced the wrong results: 1. The air conditioning is now problematic — although there are still individual controls in the rooms, the guest now have to ask the front desk to change the settings ?!? — not something I’ve ever encountered before 2. The replacement of CRT with flat-panel TVs and«matching furniture» has produced an odd, highly asymetric look to the rooms 3. In my case there was a broadband fault, which the night staff were spectacularly unable to resolve. So I won’t be going back — it’s not as if there’s a shortage of options in Brussels …
