Superb place with attentive and caring service. The fusion combinations are really something special and the portions are more than generous, so come with an empty stomach!

Unfortunately I couldn’t understand the hype about Rock Salt Chilli Peppers. The restaurant was highly rated in a few different places, and since I love Asian cuisine, I simply had to give it a try during my trip to Brussels. The highlight would be the staff, which was very helpful and accommodating, doing their best to get us a table even without a reservation and always checking if we needed something. The place is also quite cozy, though the choice of décor with the colored lighting is not really my taste. On the other hand, all the dishes seemed very bland and unexciting. One after the other, there was that interesting description on the menu and then a beautiful presentation once the dishes arrived, but the taste and preparation was ok-ish and mostly unremarkable. Considering how much we paid when you add up the entrée, main dishes and dessert, I felt that it was a very poor value.

Visited for a second time in a couple of months, because it was such a nice experience the first time. Just like my first visit, this second visit didn’t disappoint. Nice and original fusion between Asian and European cuisine. We had the Asian Sea Trifle(Croquette made of Shrimps, Crabs in Coco milk with a mild flavor of chilli) as a starter. We actually shared this starter between the two of us, which was perfectly fine. Then I took the Salad Salmone(Steamed Salmon garnished with nuts, served with fresh selection of fresh salad leaves) as a main course, while my mother had the Tuna and Scallops on Lemon Grass(Red Tuna and Scallops on lemon grass served with veges, lentils). Both dishes were equally good. The salmon tasted very fresh indeed. The tuna was still a bit raw on the inside, which we liked. Didn’t try out the wine and desert menus this time, but the suggestions by the chef are always a good choice here. Just ask for advice, the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful.

I would give this place 4 stars for their service, which was wonderful. Very friendly and attentive waiters. But the food was not very unique, in fact it was so bland that I can’t give it more than 2 stars. A lot of reviewers give this place amazing ratings on both Unilocal and Tripadvisor(ranked #6 in Bruxelles!). I’m from NYC, and I was disappointed that I chose to eat one just a few dinners in Bruxelles at this place when it’s not even local cuisine. We tried all of the top-recommended dishes from Unilocal and Tripadvisor, and each one fell short of expectations. Anything that was said to be spicy was not spicy at all. Bottom line: If you are from a small town or someplace other than NYC, you should probably still visit Rock Salt Chilli Peppers because you will like it! But if you are from NYC/SF, my recommendation is to look for a great moules frites joint instead while spending precious time in Bruxelles.

Creativity with great results! Come on Unilocalers — catch up with what reviewers on Tripadvisor are on to. My «tip» says it all so look for that to see more detail until I can edit this formal review. Basically, the flavors are phenomenal! From the surprise amuse bouche to the salmon tartare to the ahi & scallop plate — I was delighted. The lentils on the main plate were the closest thing to comfort food I have had in the 2 weeks I’ve been in Brussels this trip. Don’t take comfort as anything complacent as I crave flavor and spice, which this chef understands. Service is attentive and swift so please disregard earlier negative reviews. They just opened 5 months ago so cut them some slack. Definitely will be back!

Very warm welcome at the restaurant despite arriving slightly early. Very modern, new interior, which is very enjoyable! I ordered the rock salt spicy pepper dish, deliciously spiced pork, very tender, very tasty, and very ‘managable’ regarding the hotness. Came with fries from sweet potato, a nice change from the usual. During the meal excellent service and attention from the staff. When there make sure to try the moeilleux au chocolate which comes with red fruits and chili flakes — an excellent combo ! Very enjoyable lunch and would definitely recommend to eat here.

On avait faim!
