One of the best burgers I’ve had. Hands down. Staff was gracious, patient and laid back. Was great for my 7 year old, wife and I looking to have a burger, beer, wine etc. Plus its located in a great area. If youre in the mood for a burger of epic proportions (they’re big!), this is your place.

I still think these are the best burgers, but again the burger was still red inside, even though I asked a well-​done burger. My friend though was not happy about this and didn’t like his burger. Also, we think they updated the menu and at least one good burger disappeared from the menu. Do not forget to book a table in advance, especially in the weekends.

Lors de mon séjour bruxellois, je suis passée devant ce café-​restaurant à l’allure bien sympathique. J’ai fini par my arrêter le lendemain pour la pause déjeuner. La carte est diversifiée. J’hésite entre burger et bagel, avant de céder pour le bagel au saumon, accompagné de ses légumes de saison … Des pommes de terre ! Ah ces belges ils ont un humour bien à eux que j’apprécie tellement. Il était très bon et copieux. Les Burgers qui sont passés sous mon nez sont juste fort appétissants pour les yeux et à écouter les commentaires de ceux assis à côté ils sont aussi très bons. Coût un peu élevé (entre 12 et 20 € environ) mais bon donc j’y retournerai lors d’un prochain séjour.
Pas de wifi cependant.

One of the best burger places in Brussels! I tried already a few of their burgers and bagels and was never dissappointed. All the burgers are served with delicious homemade potatoes and a smile!

Bön accueil du responsable, service rapide et toujours souriant, bonne cuisson surtout on resort avec l’estomac bien cale.

Nice little cozy place. The burgers are pricy but very big and stodgy. The staff is really friendly, what more to say?

Rachel Burger is located right near the Manikken Pis, and not a far walk from many of the bars (such as delirium) and the main town square. My group of friends were denied seating because they came with a group of nine people (the place is very small). But, I found that it was perfect for a group of 3. We came hungry, and the service was terrible and slow. It was miserable to try to get a waiter or waitresses attention. There was only one waiter and one waitress there on a Friday night around 10 p.m. The place closes at 11 p. m, but throughout our meal I saw the waitress turn many people away.
THE FOOD:
After a very long wait, the food was well worth it. I had the Samantha Fox burger rare, and it was one of the best burgers I have had in Europe and the United States. It had a sunnyside up egg (not runny though), cheese, tomato, lettuce and pickles all on top of the delicious, juicy burger. My friend ordered the Frankenstein burger, served on a bagel, which he devoured as well.

En bref: c’est bon, c’est simple, c’est peu cher. Ayant testé la plupart des burgers le seul bémol c’est qu’on peut espérer un peu plus de renouvellement sur la carte…
Le service est plutôt sympa, en général, même s’il y a parfois des serveuses/​serveurs un peu moins sympathiques :)

Par une chaude soirée d’hiver (je vous jure, boire un verre en terrasse sans avoir froid en plein mois de décembre, c’est pas courant), on a attéri là.
J’ai beaucoup aimé la deco. On croit y voir du papier peint rapidement place mais non, il s’agit en fait de peintures faites à la main. Bref super quoi !
On s’est regales avec nos burgers. De là à dire que ce sont les meilleurs de la ville, je né sais pas. Mais en tout cas, ça vaut la peine de passer chez Rachel.
Petite anomalie: la coleslaw sans carotte, c’est bizarre. PAr contre, l’ajout de graines de sesame est surprenant et meme approuvé :-)
J’aurais pu mettre 4 étoiles mais «Yeah, je suis fan» me semble un peu exagéré mais n’y voyez pas un avis negative !

My most favorite place in Bruxelles so far! We had the Yoko burger, well done, with a glass of beer and it was perfect. Burger was cooked to perfection, and even though it was thick, it was still moist and not dry at all! Potatoes were amazing– perfectly seasoned and hot on the plate! The burger also came with something similar to coleslaw, and it was absolutely delicious. And the service was great. She gave us a good amount of attention even though the restaurant was completely full, and smiled at my feeble attempts to speak French. Definitely coming back and highly recommend!

Un peu décalée dans les horaires, je m’amèné chez Rachel passé 15h. Heureusement la cuisine est encore ouverte, je peux donc concrétiser mon envie de bagel.
Premier point: peu de personnes dans le restaurant, cela m’arrange, je peux prendre une grande table pour moi toute seule sans déranger personne.
Ma sélection se porte assez vite sur le bagel Houmous Sapiens. Je crois qu’il n’y avait que deux bagels et un hamburger veggie (un peu dommage mais c’est un petit restaurant donc on fait avec ou plutôt sans).
Second point: la déco. J’aime beaucoup l’ambiance vintage, les photos du Prince Laurent, la tranquillité de l’endroit (je suppose que c’est plus bruyant quand la salle est remplie).
Troisième point: la dégustation. Je suis contente de voir arriver le bagel accompagné d’une salade au céleri et de potatoes. Le bagel est délicieux, la salade au céleri à tomber, les potatoes un peu trop cuites mais avec tout ça je n’avais de toute façon plus de place pour en manger.
J’ai donc bien fait de suivre mon envie de bagel et de contrer le flux de touristes stagnant pas très loin. C’est un petit resto bien sympathique notamment pour manger entre amis ou en couple. Je vous le recommande vivement !

Étant un amoureux inconditionnel de Burger, je me fait un point d’honneur à essayer une adresse dans chaque nouvelle ville que je visite.
Et après avoir écumé une quantité assez importante de Burger en Europe, je dois dire que le Rachel est incontestablement dans mon Top 3 personnel !
Les produits sont de qualité et frais, le pain moelleux à souhait, la viande et le bacon cuits à la perfection.
Un vrai plaisir pour les papilles, les yeux et le ventre !
Leurs Bagels sont également à tomber par terre.
L’accueil est chaleureux, le lieu sympa, très kitsch et assez petit, rendant le tout plus convivial.
Un indispensable pour les amoureux de Burger. Jnai hâte de revenir à Bruxelles pour me délecter d’un «Say Cheeeeese !» !

Had heard great things and had literally waited our entire stay in Brussels to try this place. It was closed our first day in the city so we decided to go the next night after an amazing beer and chocolate tour (TheBrusselsJourney). We relied on the Unilocal information that Rachel closed at 10 pm and arrived around 9 pm, only to be rudely turned away because they were «closed». Extremely disappointing and an upsetting way to end our time here. Would leave zero stars if possible.

Great burgers! Very cozy little restaurant off the beaten track with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. A little bit expensive but big, yummy burgers do give value for your money. My colleagues picked up a cheesecake that looked pretty good as well. For bigger groups a reservation might be necessary.
I chose the Speedy Gonzales and it was guacamole-​fueled burger bliss. Worth it!

C’est chez Rachel que j’ai eu le plaisir de goûter à mon premier Bagel (le tout premier de toute ma vie oui!). Comme vous vous en doutez, c’était ultra bon. J’ai pris le burger qui m’attirait le plus (avec du bacon, bien sûr) et dont le nom m’a fait le plus rire: le Britney Spears. Donc, «Un Britney Spears et un Coca s’il vous plaît «(allons-​y). Une dizaine de minutes après le fameux arrive: du pain saupoudré de grains de sésame, recouvrant le poulet grillé, le fromage, le bacon, la salade et la mayo. Le tout accompagné de pommes de terre passées au four… Voilà voilà.
L’établissement propose également des Bagels au fromage bleu, au saumon, au guacamole, mozzarella, et j’en passé! On y trouve aussi toutes sortes de burgers ainsi que des salades.
C’est un endroit que je vous conseille. Il vous permet de faire une petite pause midi lorsque vous vous balader dans le centre de Bruxelles.

L’endroit parfait pour une pause lunch entre deux achats. Les bagels y sont dingues et le rapport qualité prix est assez bon. A chaque fois c’est le «Grand Jojo» qui remporte la mise avec ses chicons accompagnés de pomme de terres sautées délicieuses.
Petit bémol, l’intérieur du restaurant, pas toujours ultra accueillant je trouve.

J’avais déjà testé chez Rachel plus d’une fois, j’ai trouvé ça bon à chaque fois mais c’est un endroit que j’oublie parfois ! En tant que récente Unilocaleuse active, je me devais de donner un avis éclairé! J’y ai donc refais un tour…
La deventure est adorable, on est déjà conquis. C’est petit et cosi et moi, j’aime ca ! Par contre, après 20h, en pleine semaine, plus 1 place de libre !
Prix augmenté. Dommage ! C’était le genre de resto où on se disait «C’est tellement bon et tellement pas cher! Comment font ils? «. Cependant, les prix restent raisonnables et justifiés parce que OUI c’est BON ! On sent le produit de qualité, la gourmandise, le plaisir. Le Nicole Guacamole est mon bagel favoris (poulet, cheddar, Guacamole) accompagné de des petites patatoes aux herbes. Slurp slurp !!
La carte est originale tant dans les noms que les associations. Plusieurs plats végétariens sur la carte et ça c’est un vrai bon point. Par contre, 2 salades a la carte, c’est trop peu. Les régimeurs (euses) ou intolérant apprécient plus de choix. A savoir que j’avais demandé, sur Facebook, si l’on pouvait composer une assiette de la carte sans le pain… et c’est non car trop d’aliments tartinables. Pourtant, un peu de guacamole a côté du poulet, c’est possible non? :$ tant pis ! :)
La présentation des plats est plutôt simple et basique «comme a la maison». Ça correspond a l’ambiance, on apprécie!
Resto sympa, petit budget ! Une valeur sûre a Bruxelles selon moi.

Sans conteste l’une de mes adresses favorites pour manger un hamburger, qui se présente telle une tour de Babel (puis, tel Dieu, il faut l’effondrer pour en profiter). Service très amical et rapide (je pense avoir de la chance, je tombe rarement sur le resto plein et toujours sur le même serveur). Parfait avant d’entamer le Moeder Lambic!

I’m in the restaurant right now trying to look cool and normal when on the inside I’m kirking the hell out over this burger! Oh My Jesus this thing is so good! Seriously! I didn’t even have a Unilocal account but I created one just so I could write this review! I got the Say Cheeeeeese and it’s better than any burger I’ve had in any country. I seriously wanna marry this burger and have its babies!

Une éternité que je voulais tester cet endroit du quartier gay de Bruxelles.
Après plusieurs tentatives infructueuses dues au succès du lieu, j’ai enfin réussi à m’attabler avec 3 amis.
Nous sommes accueillis tout à fait correctement par un charmant jeune homme look hipster modeux.
Nous optons chacun pour un burger différent; et une amie demande même quelques adaptations (légumes à part, cornichons en sus, viande saignante, …).
Le même charmant jeune homme prend la commande avec le sourire. Et nous recevons chacun ce que nous avons commandé.
Cela peut paraître idiot de le dire, mais c’est vraiment très loin d’être toujours le cas!
Après le temps nécessaire à la préparation, nous recevons nos assiettes bien garnies et joliment mises en valeur.
C’est vraiment délicieux!
Je suis le seul à me laisser tenter par un dessert…
L’addition est vraiment légère et l’estomac très bien rempli!

Coup de coeur pour la décoration et la sympathie du service. J’ai pris un bagel Amour, poire et beauté (coup de coeur pour les noms du menu aussi), c’était bon mais pas non plus exceptionnel comme on me l’avait vendu.

Had an amazing experience at this place. Burgers really fresh and generous in size. My burger arrived late after every one else, so the beautiful waitress, out of common courtesy, took it off completely from the check. Told her it was totally fine though!

Very tasty bagels and burguers. We tried the Englishman in New York bagel and the Chuck burguer. We accompanied the meal with a couple of Belgian beers and awesome home-​made fried potatoes, and then closed with a delicious cheessecake. All in all Rachel is a solid choice, although a bit on the pricey side. Highly recommended.

Chez Rachel, c’est de la «slow food», les plats sont préparés à la minute, on attend un peu (préférable d’y aller quand il n’y a pas trop de monde ?) mais ça en vaut la peine !
Le pain est maison et très bon, les bagels sont délicieux, accompagnés de pommes de terre et d’une bonne petite salade. J’avais pris le Nicole Guacamole, il était très frais et m’a totalement satisfaite ! :)
L’endroit est charmant ;)

Les burgers sont bons, le bun est léger, la viande est vraiment de qualité avec un petit goût fumé. Concernant la cuisson, il faut juste la préciser sinon ce sera d’office bien cuit. C’est servi avec du coleslaw et des pomme de terre sautées. Et surtout, le service est adorable.

Rachel, un lieu dont on m’avait tant dit de bien! Et bien comme quoi chaque expérience peut vraiment être différente car j’ai vraiment été super déçue. Fan (méga fan) de bons burgers on me l’avait vendu comme un des meilleurs à Bruxelles. Certes le quartier est sympa et la façade à l’avant donne envie d’y entrer mais pour moi l’expérience sympa s’est à peu près arrêtée là. J’ai trouvé l’intérieur un peu cracra et le service était déplorable. Le burger bien qu’il avait l’air beau n’était vraiment pas bon, la viande était bcp trop cuite (et là j’ai réalisé qu’on né nous avait jamais demandé la cuisson, grosse erreur), le pain était sec et le tout combiné n’avait aucune saveur. Même ressenti pour mon ami qui était vraiment super déçu de mon choix pour une de ses rares visites à Bruxelles. Très mauvaise première impression donc, on né m’y reprendra pas deux fois!

Brunch from heaven! Rather small place, but the food and service are great, English is no problem and their menu is full of delicious goodies — warmly recommended!

Rachel, ça fait des mois que l’on m’en parle et hier j’ai sauté le pas !
Je choisis donc le burger Rachel et une limonade d’un nom inconnu «gazosa» à la myrtille tandis que mon partner in crime choisit le bagel Britney Spears.
La commande arrive et la c’est juste le top !
Des petites pommes de terre rôties aux herbes, une viande cuite à souhait, c’est délicieux et plus que généreux !
L’addition est de 40 euros au final pour 2 plats et deux boissons. A retenir !

Chez Rachel les bagels sont Copieux, bons et plutôt fun par les petits noms qui leurs sont données. Un bon rapport qualité/​prix, un inévitable du centre ville quand on a un grosse faim de bonne choses bien grasse.
Bémol sur le personnel (surtout en soirée !!) vraiment pas très accueillant et très irritée quand il y a du monde.
Si il fait beau et que vous êtes très très chanceux ou patient vous aurez le plaisir de déguster les bagels de Rachel en Terasse sur les 2 seules et uniques tables de la petite Terasse!
En bref bonne adresse pour une envie de graisse, pas de la gastronomie qui transcende mais sympa entre amis !

Although pricey, this place gave me my first bagel in four months and it was a worthy one. I had the salmon bagel, which came with chives, lemon, cream cheese, and green onion. On the side was some slaw and greens, nothing special but better that they existed than not!
I found the service to be friendly and the staff spoke great english and helped us through the menu, which I really appreciated. Even though you might expect a bagel to just be a snack, this one was a filling meal. I would definitely return if I ever come back to Brussels!

We tried the Say Cheeeeessee! Burger and the Englishman in New York bagel sandwich.
The burger was massive, but delicious. Well cooked beef burger with sautéed vegetables, bacon, cheese and Dijon.
The bagel sandwich was just ok. The egg was overcooked and there was an excessive amount of ketchup on the bagel where that’s all you could taste.
The food took a while to be served, but the staff was very friendly.

J’adore j’adore j’adore. L’endroit où ils servent pour moi les meilleurs bagels de Bruxelles. L’endroit est très mignon et la carte très originale avec des noms de plats qui sortent du commun. (ex: Britney spears)
Le rapport qualité prix est très bien même si à mon goût ils devraient mettre un tout petit plus de leurs excellentes pommes de terres sautées. J’opte a chaque fois pour le Grand Jojo
J’emmèné souvent des amis qui visitent Bruxelles dans ce restaurant mais il faut arriver tôt et s’armer de patience car vous né serez pas les seuls à vouloir prendre votre pied avec ses plats.
Même si il faut être patient Les bagels de chez Rachel rime pour le coup avec ventre plein et valent vraiment le coup.

Tout simplement les meilleurs bagels de Bruxelles.
Certes, la déco n’est pas vraiment à mon goût, l’endroit est petit et pas super bien situé, mais les bagels sont magnifiques. Les ingrédients sont simplement bons, la cuisson est maitrisée à merveille tout comme les différents assortiments de saveurs proposés. De plus les prix sont raisonnables. Que demander de plus?!
Seul tout petit point négatif: les pommes de terres servies en accompagnement qui n’ont pas énormément de goût et qui étaient un peu brulées.

HOWEVER… I’d like to take this opportunity to perhaps be the first semi-​hipster ever to say that I don’t like David Lynch. Not one bit.
And it’s not that I don’t ‘get him’… I definitely get him, I just f*cking hate what I get.
First off, all that stupid slow jazzy music with the constant ding of little cymbals at seemingly inappropriate times. HATE it. Worst signature ever.
Second, (and this is where I’ll end it so as to make this entire thing a rant, but just know that I could go on) watching a work by David Lynch feels like homework. I keep waiting for the turning point where I’ll see the genius like everyone else supposedly does, but it never comes and it always ends with me being mind-​numbingly bored for 2+ hours, then trying to Google wtf just happened, then STILL not knowing what the point was. Do they make Cliff Notes for these things?
Personally, when I hear people say they love David Lynch I can’t help but think that David Lynch is off somewhere laughing at them (definitely NOT with them) for being able to make money off fooling people with nonsensical hullabaloo… and other words that only your grandmother would use. Is there anyone out there that can confidently explain (the confident thing is key because anyone can just fudge up a half-​assed explanation) that sh*t to me? And you have to be able to wrap up details… no sweeping things under the rug.
Aaaanyway… I guess we can get back to this Twin Peaks eatery that for whatever reason, thrilled me when I saw all the nods to David Lynch’s cult television hit, Twin Peaks. There was the nicely framed photo of Laura Palmer on the bookshelves, the Twin Peaks town signage, it was warmly nostalgic of my days spent curled up on the couch with my laptop, Twin Peaks on Netflix, and a confused look on my face trying to figure out wtf was going on with that lady with the log. Anybody know? Anybody? I thought not.
So this place has a menu that is the absolute most refreshing thing after 2+ weeks traveling through the Czech Republic and Germany where your choices are typically brown gravy and meat or beige gravy and meat, or white gravy and meat.
We went right when they opened (at like 11am or something spectacular for non-​early risers like myself) and partook in their brunch-​y menu of hearty, colorful, stacked bagel sandwiches and burgers. They even have a few vegetarian and vegan option… which are few and far between in other countries.
My dining partner and I both ordered coffee, which was fresh and perhaps the tastiest we’d had all trip. Our coffees were served in mis-​matched mugs, his had a cartoon image of a log cabin and mine was an ultra 80s touristy mug from Florida… it was at that point that I understood that this was an ‘American-​style’ restaurant and to that I could only be thankful… if for nothing more than for the first time in our 2+ weeks of traveling, the menu was in English and I could read everything on it and know exactly what I was getting.
Our server was so sweet and cute and spoke the most delicate English ever. I think that may be my favorite accent… when people who normally speak French, speak English. So soft and soothing.
My partner and I split the Hannibal the Cannibal bagel sandwich, that ironically is vegetarian — also FANTASTIC. And the Super Mario Burger (also a veggie burger) that was OUTSTANDING. One of the tastiest meals of entire trip. So good, in fact, that we almost came back for dinner with another couple, but since the hours here are kind of (totally) weird, we did not.
Rachel is not at all handicap accessible… or it is until you have to go to the bathroom when you have to walk down the slender-​est, steep-​est stairs I’ve ever seen inside a building. There’s one bathroom with a toilet and a door and it opens into an open area with a sink surrounded by three urinals — no door, so there’s a good chance of seeing some wiener while you wash your hands.
The prices were nominal for the size, quality, and freshness of our food and overall this was the most affordable place we dined in all of Belgium.

Location is central Brussels, nearby other restaurants and across from a nice bar. Atmosphere in the restaurant is casual and pleasant, what I would expect to find in the US. Staff also speaks English, which is always nice! Food is ok, I had a veggie burger and it wasn’t outstanding but portion sizes were just right with healthier side options of potatoes (instead of fries) and salad. I would go back for a bagel, however, when in the mood!
Also possible to order food to go (2 prices on the menu, cheaper price is for to-​go and more expensive for eating in the restaurant)

This restaurant had such good reviews that I think we may have gone into it expecting too much. The restaurant’s claim to be «American» isn’t entirely off base, but it would certainly be out of place in America.
3 of us visited on a Sunday for brunch. We arrived around 11am and were surprised to be the only patrons for the entirety of our visit. I had the bagel with eggs, one had the veggie burger, and one had the bbq chicken sandwich.
The bagel itself was quite good, it was heavy on the cream cheese but that was easily fixed, and I just wish I had been asked how I wanted my egg prepared.
Our resident vegetarian was pretty unhappy with his «wadded up bean paste» of a burger. The chicken sandwich was «ok» and oddly, the chicken was all chopped up.
Overall, it wasn’t bad, but we had better while we were in Brussels. If you’re hungry and walking past, give it a try — but don’t make a point to go visit.
