Hey, I’m not a big vintage clothes buyer so posting a review here is probably a little cheeky. I just wanted to add my 2cents though and say that I’m very VERY pleased that the girls here stock clothes that are size 12 and 14. There is a very cool vintage clothes store in West End that also posts pics of their wares on Instagram and Facebook but I’ve notice it only seems to have size 8 and 10. Huh? Marilyn Monroe would be disgusted! So, thank you CYKAS — keep stocking 12s and 14s. Us ‘real’ curvy women will love you forever. And keep posting your clothes on IG and FB. You have the best stuff. For the record, I ended up buying a beautiful wool cape which I wore to a wedding recently. Now a firm favourite in my wardrobe.

The Secret is slowly but surely getting out and I’m definitely on the band wagon. This delightful shop is set out beautifully with themed rooms(menswear, women’s, kitchen etc) with a vast and constantly updated array of goods. Some of the best things to note is that this vintage second hand shop aims to sell quality goods — no car-boot style garments here — because of this the prices are obviously slightly more expensive then your average op-shop but as this is nothing like the quality or vibe of your average op-shop it’s truly worth it! Another great thing — all clothes and goods are hand sourced only from Brisbane! none of this bulk, interstate or overseas buying. This is probably why the quality is good because the team at Can You Keep a Secret actually get to see, feel and smell it before they choose to buy it! They also host themed parties, not sure of the prices, but you could have one very special night in such an awesome vintage space!

Can You Keep A Secret is one of those places you actually want to keep a secret so that no one else discovers this treasure trove of hand selected vintage clothing and homewares. The two retro-loving ladies behind this wonderful find along Logan Road have transformed an old Queenslander into a warm and inviting store that feels more like coming home than it does visiting a shop. The best thing(other than the sheer variety in the range of items available) is the prices. They’re true vintage prices, not«it’s cool to be vintage» prices.

This beautiful vintage shop is on my drive home from work and I’ve always meant to drop in — an early finish finally led to an opportunity and I was really impressed. The large Queenslander has been turned into a great vintage abode — there’s a downstairs for rummaging in the more, um, already loved items, and upstairs has things in better condition. Everything is well-priced — there were dresses ranging from $ 10(80s, 90s) to $ 155(50s prom dresses) — all far less than you would expect to pay in an inner city vintage shop. There was lots of 40s, 50s and 60s, which can be harder to find. They had kitchenwares in the kitchen, outdoor furniture outside, a men’s room of clothing and two rooms of lovely dresses, skirts and blouses for the ladies. The staff were lovely — not pushy but very friendly. I’ll be back, many, many times.

Normally I’m pretty good at keeping secrets, but in this case, I refuse. I wish this gorgeous little place wasn’t so isolated but I guess some of the best shops are. It’s easy enough to find and very easy to identify with clothing out the front. There are also some old bicycles out the front with so much vintage quality that the first image that came to my mind was Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck haphazardly riding one of them. This place is littered with all things Vintage: on the walls, on racks, hanging, draping, sitting, resting, everywhere. There’s even a lovely little record player you can marvel at. It’s obviously a house that’s been transformed into a shop and every room you move through is a new adventure with new things to play with. There’s a sweet little selection of clothing and I didn’t see one item of it exceed $ 40. And the tag not only features the price of the piece, it also identifies what era it belongs to. Lovely. Boys, be happy too; in other shops you’re usually assigned one rail if you’re lucky. Here, you get a whole room complete with cowboy boots to try on. Grab a coffee while you sing along to «Under the Boardwalk» and then take some time to pop downstairs and browse the furniture. The back stairs give way to a den-like basement that holds this part of the store with things including an old keyboard, television, suitcase, and a bundle of chairs that look like they were lifted straight from your grandma’s living room. This place is the collective creation of two lovely ladies who obviously live and breathe all things vintage, and I’m definitely a fan of their work. It’s a novelty little place with so much charm and potential. Massive snaps to whoever did their design and logo as well, because that was a really enticing factor for me.
