Avoid! Avoid like the plague. Harsh, but true. There are so many more quality and better Vietnamese restaurants out there. Being in the Woodville/Hanson Rd area there is a massive catchment of great Vietnamese eateries. Go to any of those instead. Honestly I have no idea how Vung Tau is even standing. It’s constantly near empty everytime I’ve driven past, the restaurant itself looks and is extremely dated and there is no effort whatsoever to salvage this ancient piece of wreck. The food was lacklustre and the ambiance was absent. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This place has plenty of choices for dinner and they are all pretty good. As entrees our group ordered chicken and sweet corn soup and spring rolls, we all enjoyed them. Our mains were Vietnamese chicken salad, beef curry, lemongrass and chilli chicken and sweet and sour pork. Each of them came in generous portions. They all tasted nice, the beef curry was the favourite but I could easily order any of them again and be happy. Desert was fried ice cream. It was the first time I had fried ice cream and I am a fan. Staff are all friendly and available through out the night which is great. Only downside is there can be a bit of a wait for food.

This place has been around for years and with the amazing service, quality of food and convenient location, you can understand why! Another plus for this oldie goldie, is that it offers the best of both worlds. Chinese AND Vietnamese. The menu is overflowing with dishes from both cultures and it makes life for the indecisive a whole lot easier. The service is spectacular. I’m pretty sure it’s a family run business, and the owner is always so so lovely. You can sit and have a conversation while the food is waiting and he makes you feel at home! It’s really pleasing to see this not as a once off, but every single time! Because I love Vietnamese food slightly more than Chinese, I’ve noticed they offer a lot of more of those dishes during the day(lunchtime), but whenever I ask for a Vietnamese dish at night, he always makes up something for me, without any complaints! I’ve never been disappointed, ever! Go here, and try to leave without a bag of prawn crackers(it’s impossible because he offers them to everyone!) — Gotta love that! Go Vung Tau Inn! Our family and I love you.
