Very unique setting in a cosy mid-​late 1800’s church. The decoration consists of candles, a chandelier, and high stained-​glass windows! Well insulated and warm in winter; cool in summer.
We enjoyed decent coffees, a generous pot of tea, and pretty good breakfasts. The eggs benedict had some very unique thin bacon. The Big breakfast was well, big. The poached eggs were perfect. My truffle scrambled eggs were a bit too truffle-​y maybe, but otherwise very tasty; especially thanks to the house-​smoked salmon.
Food didn’t come out particularly quick but the service was friendly. Nice place.

What a fitting end to a good holiday. Dinner at Altar Bistro capped it all.
We were warned that the portions were generous but paid no heed. The Dear Wife and I shared a Flat Bread, Duck Ravioli as entrees. Mains were the veal pie and the steak. The tastes and combinations were absolutely spectacular and we had to clean our plates, to the detriment of our waistline.
Unfortunately we had no room for dessert but having sampled some prior to this we know they live up to the standards set by the mains.
Can honestly say that it is one of the stand out meals of our lives.

I can’t recommend the flat breads enough! So delicious and great with a side of chunky, perfectly seasoned chips to share.
The desert was also gorgeous, we had the crème brûlée to share but every desert looked tempting!
The service was quite good and I have no complaints on it. However, a family member has had bad service here on more than one occasion so I suppose it depends on which staff are working.
The thought of those flat breads are making my mouth water. You’ve got to try them!

Sam has been coming here every Sunday for the past few weeks so I came along with the kids today. Staff were very nice and friendly, service was quick without being rushed and the food and drinks were great. Prices were on par with most fancy café’s that have meals and they equalled the quality… We’ll be back!
