Ordered Kolo Mee Extra special. $ 13.50 Meal was a good size, noodles taste nice. Not as authentic as what I have tasted in Kuching, but still great. Tried the Laksa this time, very nice, but a little bit too sweet for my partner’s likening, however I enjoyed very much.

Finally after hearing so much about this place we made it to lunch today. Ordered the Tomato Kueh Teow & was not disappointed. Exactly how it’s cooked & tasted when I used to eat this dish as a young girl. Very casual place so if you’re trying to impress someone on the basis of the settings, forget it. Will definitely go back there again. Reasonably priced too

That was one seriously delicious bowl of food! It is my first visit here and was recommended by a friend at work who is from Sarawak. I had the kolo mee special, a huge bowl of silky noodles in a super tasty broth topped with sliced pork, crispy and not too fatty belly pork, fish balls and kailan. All for just $ 10. 90. They offer an extra portion of mee if you would like but the regular portion is more than enough. They have a sambal of fresh ginger and mild chilli which is a must to add extra zing. The friendly waitress suggested I try the laksa next time. Sarawak laksa is not to be confused with the Malaysian laksa with coconut cream, it’s more of a broth. Very busy, basic little restaurant with friendly staff. Be prepared to wait for a table as it’s so popular, worth the wait though. I was the only western person in the place, an excellent sign! I’ll be back very soon with the family, Rowan F. you missed out this time!

lemon chicken rice doesnt mean giving me 2 slice of lemon piece and fried chicken pieces with alot of rice. where’s the lemon sauce that comes with it? the fried chicken does have that pre-fried texture. it’s soggy and not crispy. you cant call that lemon chicken rice without the lemon sauce. better change ur menu name to not confuse customers like me. i’m kinda disappointed with this :\

After reading Krystal H’s review I bookmarked this place straight away. I’ve since read more reviews and they all seem really great… however, after much debating about what to eat for dinner tonight we decided to try it for ourselves. I was honestly so underwhelmed. If the reviews were mixed I would’ve been expecting less, but they aren’t and so my expectations were sky high. I was excited to try the laksa, I love laksa and have grown up with mum making it and have had many around the world. This was not a laksa. It wasn’t hot, it wasn’t spicy, it wasn’t fragrant, it was well below average. I expected egg noodles and was given rice noodles, there was a lot of noodles though. I even went to look in the self service section to get some sambal to make my laksa hot and hopefully add some flavour but despite the sign there wasn’t any. My Ribena lychee drink was good, but it wasn’t a standout, it was the best thing about my order though. My partner had the salad chicken rice and a summer lime to drink. He said the chicken was ok, he said he would give it 2.5 /5 stars. The portion seemed quite small and he said his rice wasn’t flavoured. The food was quick but not in the vicinity of what I was expecting at all; I’ve been served better laksa in a food court. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The first time I went here I ordered curry chicken rice and fried kueh tiaw as mentioned in my previous post. Upon receiving the dishes the waitress stated curry chicken rice while she placed the dish in front of me. There was many a moment while I ate the dish where I wondered what part of it the ‘curry’ was incorporated in but I added extra sambal and ate it happily all the same claiming it my favourite dish of the night. The dish was in fact Hainanese chicken rice. I discovered this when I visited again today and ordered curry chicken rice. I imagine many a laughs were had at my expense on the first day but honestly, after dining there again tonight I still do not regret it in the slightest. I love this place and I love the food. The menu is slightly different now with alterations made especially in the drinks. The food is still as scrumptious as ever. So I left full and all the wiser, and next time I will speak out when I have an inkling that my dish is wrong. :P I do recommend the Hainanese chicken rice though, it is great but the curry chicken rice I had tonight was EXACTLY what I was looking for on the first night, it was definitely a stand out. :)
