Great food and very friendly waiters. Price ok but for what you get, very good value with the servings being quite large. Went with a group of 5, had bruschetta, a main, a few bottles of great red, beer and an Irish coffee and it cost $ 55 each. Definitely will be back in the future. As I said, not super cheap but pretty good value for money and the ravioli bolognese I had was very nice. Not too garlicky but still flavoursome.

This food is great. I had oysters & seafood pizza. We were greeted & provided an excellent view. The food was fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was joyful. Kid(s) friendly as well. Highly recommended

Sadly, the first restaurant that I went to in the world famous Lygon Street, was one that modelled its food on the flavours found in the freezer section of Coles or Woolworths. I ordered the steak which must have come from a cow that merely ceased to live after decades of wandering the wild plains of Victoria. It had more gristle than beef. And before you get upset, I have my steak medium rare so it’s not due to cooking time(on my request at least). My wife ordered pasta which looked ordinary but came in a very generous serve. It had strong flavours of butter, freezer burn and not much else. Our waitress was pleasant enough which I’m sure came from the long leaves of absence she seemed to take. She also appeared to be 50% of the entire staff list so I expect her workload was quite big. The menu was overpriced which became further evident when just a few doors down and across the street we had the best pasta that we’ve eaten in Australia at a fraction of the cost. Sadness!

After walking from my hotel close by we happened upon this place. We sat outside by a heater and it was quite nice, not too loud or cold which was great considering it was 4 degrees out. The food was amazing. I has ravioli Carbonara, my colleague had rare steak with mushroom gravy. His looked really nice and he said it was good. My Carbonara was amazing. When I am in Melbourne I will remember this place. Received complimentary wine with dinner which is always good :)

A Lygon Street institution. Italian food at its finest. Barramundi is a special of the house and never fails. Great pizzas, better pastas. What really impresses is Michael the proprietor, his wife, sons and daughters. A family restaurant run by a family for families. There are restaurants and then there are experiences. This is the best of experiences.

So, it’s quite expensive here! $ 24 for my lasagne and it was fairly small for that amount. It was however, really tasty and satisfying. Hubs had the lot pizza which he polished off. He said it was«standard.» We had the Forrest Estate shiraz for $ 9.50 per glass. I don’t know if I’d visit again as there are so many places on Lygon to try but I’m not sad that I went.

Decent food for a little more price than it’s worth but that’s the Lygon factor. I can’t complain about the calzone i had other than it was pre-made.
