Popped in with my husband, we thought that’d be funny. This was a great little find. Excellent food, fantastic service and great atmosphere. I had the avocado on toast which they managed to add a refined twist to. My husband had the egg plant and quinoa salad which he loved. Definitely check this place out, well worth it.

Seems quite a shame that no one has done a review of Husband yet. On busy Malvern Road but away from the main hustle, Husband is a simple coffee shop that fulfilled an important criteria: it was open! Cash only is always a problem for me(as I rarely carry it) but there was an ATM in the bottle shop up the road.(Please go there too. It’s only fair if you are going to use his ATM and access to the back road) Not a huge range of food was available but to be fair I was there after lunch. The muffin I did have however was very tasty. Importantly, the coffee tastes great and the double espresso was made correctly. I’ll be back as it is handy to one of my regular stops while in town. And also because I enjoyed my coffee

Cute little coffee shop on Malvern Road — for me always a pit stop on the way to Prahran Markets. Always a calm vibe, good coffee and they sell some nice organic products too, such as muesli etc. The guys are ways friendly and it’s a good spot to take a magazine and watch the(Malvern Rd) world go by.

I Walked past this place on a research mission; admittedly on the way to find hobba, but it was a great surprise to find indeed! Inside Husband barely looks aged, and has a nice little fit-out without going over the top. the back room is quite attractive; a quiet space decked out with sea grass matting or something similar. The coffee here is from padre, and the machine wega. There’s a little retail section for things to take away, and a seating area for those taking home take-away coffee and sorts. Good sandwich fare inside, toasted well, and all at a cheap and attractive price. There’ also a large sweets display cabinet, so if you’re in the mood for cake and such things, then defineatly come here. Donovan is warm and friendly and will treat you very well, along with every other customer that walks in. Charming indeed.

I love coming here — I found this place last year, it was too hard to gat a seat at nearby Hobba, which I also love, but I prefer coming here, especially for an afternoon tea treat. The food is delicious and the owner always puts his twist on familiar favorites. In the past I have had delicious blood orange curd tarts, but today I went for a delicious coconut jam slice. I wouldn’t normally pick this most places, but here it was light and absolutely delicious! The décor is very cool but comfortable, and the owner is always friendly and helpful. Can’t wait until my next visit!

I feel quite sorry for this place. It has all the adorable fittings to make it work — great, memorable name, an intimate interior with a heap of character, a great location. But whenever I drive past it, it’s emptier than a ghost town. When this place first popped out of nowhere I was so excited to give it a try. Sadly the menu choices are pretty slim pickens, and the food comes pre-prepared. If you’re not all about the food, then this place has a pretty unbeatable vibe. The café is a one-man-show, with the owner doing coffees, table service… well everything, in fact. He’s a really nice guy who genuinely wants to provide a great, personable service to his clients and I totally admire him for that. I don’t want to turn people off because I feel this place has a huge amount of potential, it’s just still sorting itself out.
