When my friend told me she was going to take me to a fried chicken place I thought YAY! When she said it was a soft bone fried chicken place and that you could eat the bones, I thought she was pulling my leg. But its all true. I can now say I’ve eaten chicken bones… ultimate nose to tail eating! First impressions? The place is the most dull looking restaurant I’ve ever been to… like a prison cafeteria, bare minimum furnishings, no windows. Only tables, chairs and the counter is steel metal with a cash register. Oh and you have to fill out your own bill. Huh? The owner comes out and gives you an order pad and a pen and you have to write down what you want. It was the strangest experience but apparently this is normal in this restaurant. So considering this, I admit I didn’t have the highest hopes for the food. But it was actually ok. The fried chicken is yummy with the coconut rice, and I had mine with sambal. However this particular sambal was very strong and smelly so I wouldn’t recommend it. Get the normal chicken and get sambal as a dipping sauce. Then come the bones. They look normal but my spoon slices straight through it. And the middle is red. I’m freaking out a little bit but my Indonesian friend urges me to try it. The bone actually tastes alright, but I wouldn’t have a whole plateful of it. I guess its an acquired taste: p Overall this place is… interesting. I guess the whole point is to come here for the soft bones, but I actually just wanted the chicken. Funnily enough there is a restaurant that serves just chicken called KFC…
