Dogsitting in the area and needed a feed close by! How amazing to find out from fellow people of Unilocal of a fantastic pizza joint. Just wanted some takeaway so I called up expecting a 30 min wait to pickup but it was 5, so rushed out haha. The margherita was superb!

*Review incomplete Not a bad restaurant amongst the homes. Setting nice, but they started packing up and mopping with half the restaurant still full

I love this place. The pizza is always amazing. You can taste that the ingredient are fresh and the wait time on food is always short even when busy. Staff are friendly as well. Only thing I would suggest if you do go is make a booking or take a jacket as you’ll be sitting outside. Oh and only one side of the restaurant is licensed? We went without making a booking and end up on the dry side. So we opted to brave the cold with a bottle of wine.

I’m so lucky to have this tiny little pizza place right near home. Walking in felt like I was visiting family that want to feed me. Great thin based pizza that I am going to be craving again tomorrow and an excellent wine range. And don’t forget the Nutella pizza. My god… The Nutella pizza.

There is often a desire to be verbose in reviews, be entertaining, useful, funny, or cool… Il Pizzaiolo is far too simple for such pomp. This is unquestionably the finest and most authentic Naples-style pizza in Melbourne. PS. Finally! An Australian-Italian place that actually knows what«marinara» is! A sauce from a cheap dish impoverished sailors(«marinai») would eat and NOT a sauce made of stuff from the sea(«mare»). Now to find a place that doesn’t lost-in-translation Caesar salad by adding anchovies(they are in the Worcestershire sauce in the dressing, not actual fish in the salad).
