Having no real past experience of true Korean BBQ or the format of how it’s done, this was quite an adventure. Big menu and it was hard to know exactly how much you got and really what to order. So I had the young kid waiting our table help us who’s English was not so great but we managed by doing a lot of pointing. I pretty much said sure to whatever he suggested. Then he comes over and drops a bucket into our table grill loaded with glowing charcoal embers and drops a grate on top of that. Then comes these pieces of sorta fatty looking pork belly that he himself tongs onto the grate with a nice sizzle sound and then takes off. We are not sure if we are supposed to then watch and flip this stuff or not so we are trying to watch other tables to see what they are doing. At some point I flipped them but the kid then comes over and flips them back himself. So OK, you are going to watch our stuff on the grill? Then comes a tons of little plates of God knows what of sauces, cabbage and then a bunch more meats. Also a large bowl of this cold tomato broth soup with a huge pile of micro noodles in it that look like a bird’s nest. It’s actually very good and not spicy at all. Eventually he comes back and moves the pork around some more and then to the outside indicating that it’s ready so we start eating. I see some people are taking large piece of lettuce and loading them up with meat and toppings and eating them like tacos. So we try that and wow, gotta say this is the best pork belly ever with that nice charcoal grill taste. We also get marinated chicken, beef and some large prawns but we let those overcook and they get a little grainy but whatever. During the time we are grilling and eating, different guys come over with tongs to change out the grill for clean ones and they have these holsters with large scissors that they whip out to cut up the grilled meat into smaller pieces. The seats are mostly under a roof but with open areas to allow all the smoke to rise out which is smart. I think they know we are confused but having a great time. At some point we are stuffed after having so much meat but everything was very good. This was a lotta fun overall and we were glad we went.

So today was my first time here and oh my life it was a beautiful experience. I order the bibimbap and didn’t realise how spicy the sauce would be. No fear though, a friendly waiter came over and noticed I wasn’t using my spoon because the red paste was still on it so he offered to get me a new spoon. Lovely staff showing their initiative! I also went alone while everyone else were in groups of 4 – 6 so one staff member had a friendly chat with me and continuously checked up on me which was fantastic! Quick service and although communication was a bit off because of the language barrier, they tried their hardest! !

Very good Korean BBQ. A few notes: — The side dishes with the set menu are many, delicious and unlimited. It is hard to not fill up on these. — They cook the BBQ grill for you. I personally prefer to do it myself, but in this case they do a very efficient job… I.e. don’t grab the tongs! — Come very hungry, leave very happy! One main concern — The staff allowed some Korean youth to smoke within the restaurant patio dining area disturbing all customers nearby. This is unacceptable to customers and will be illegal from July 2015. This causes a loss of a star. 4-Star if the smoking did not occur. 2% surcharge on Credit Card.

I had thin beef skirt, marinated beef ribs, marinated squid, egg hotpot for 2 persons. I feel like I didn’t eat anything at all. I think it’s overpriced although the service is nice when they sometimes grilled meat for us and change the grill. The taste and quality of meat is OK. Not really special. Portion is very small. Thin beef skirt: 3 small pieces Marinated beef ribs: 2 slices Marinated squid: 1 Egg hotpot is quite popular.

Wow! My favorite place in the city to get Korean BBQ. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the meat is excellent. I love that they actually grill the meat in front of you and change the grill frequently as well. I would highly recommend the pork belly and the marinated beef rib for grilling. In addition, I really enjoyed the steamed egg, seafood pancake and the banchans – especially the potato salad. Service is excellent and the restaurant is clean. I will be returning shortly!
