Where do I begin. Where oh where. I love bags. I freaking LOVE bags. I love them so much, I would bathe in them if I could. But not just ordinary bags… I like the good stuff. I’ve got a collection going — Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, Tod’s, Burberry etc etc. Reebonz(pronounced Ribbons) sell bags. Sometimes shoes and scarves, but mostly bags. And at MASSIVE discounts. Last year I bought an an in-season high end designer bag for an unbelievable price. More recently, I bought the Alexander McQueen manta Kansai clutch for $ 360, and found out it was retailing for just over $ 1000. How do they do it? The dispatch is quick — all deliveries are via Fed Ex international express(free shipping). If you order a bag on Wednesday, chances of you getting it by Friday are pretty high. So Reebonz for me is basically bag p*rn, and I spend 30minutes a day on the site salivating at those curves and handles and fittings. Those dirty girls… showing off their beautifully crafted italian leather, golden zippers, and stunning finishing. So. Much. Giggity. All bags are delivered in a big black box with a golden shimmering ribbon wrapped around it like a big bow. The bags come with authenticity cards and original tags, and they SMELL new(now I’m just talkin’ dirty). Reebonz also sell pre-loved luxury, and details regarding defects are disclosed on its website for each pre-loved item. Condition of the items range from Mint to Pristine. I have not yet purchased a pre-loved item, but there is a huge market especially for Hermes or Chanel. Reebonz also act as a middleman for people looking to sell their designer bags. So if you’re not using that Chanel lambskin anymore, give them a call and they will discuss the option to sell. More recently, Reebonz have started diversifying into the jewellery market(still pre-loved) but looks like they have some way to go. My only frustration with this site is the layby process, which is a great option, but comes with technical difficulties. Lay-by allows you to buy a bag, and then make regular payments on it over 4 installments. The problem arises if you try to make a payment ahead of time. Their online platform doesn’t seem to have the capability to respond to or process early payments. I had to contact customer service, but they were really good, and sorted it out asap. I think the layby system is really fantastic especially for the high end bags such as Bottega, Chanel, YSL etc, but there are a few kinks they need to sort out. The other issue with this site is that you don’t really know what’s in season and what isn’t if you haven’t been following the whole fashion thing. I saw the Ferragamo Lisetta listed on their page for $ 495, but after some research, discovered it was from seven years ago(not seasons!). With Reebonz, the more you spend, the more loyalty points you get, and the more discounts you can get on the bags(credits/dollars). Spend $ 3000 in a year to get upgraded to Solitaire membership and get more privileges. They have an app, but if you’re anything like me… don’t download it. Giggity. Oh yes, and they have a big store just across Town Hall station but it doesn’t have much in there.
