Easily the best sandwich joint in this part of town. The queue might get long during lunch, but they crank them out, so you’ll never wait long. They have a great selection of big breads(my favourite is olive sourdough). All of the ingredients are super-fresh, and there’s always plenty of toppings. My current favourite is chicken slaw — they fry the schnitzel up right before your eyes. I’ve eaten here nearly every week for the last 5 months, and not had any a single bad sandwiche. There a few Little Vienna sandwich stores around Sydney these days, but don’t be fooled — North’s is where you want to go for your big sammich needs. If you don’t feel like a sandwich, they also have a burger place right next door(review coming!).

My husband and I are staying @ the Four Seasons and have been eating in all the tourist eateries in the area. It’s expensive everywhere. Yesterday we ate some disgusting food by the wharf that gave me a very bad stomachache. We decided to come to this place seeing the it was highly rated in Unilocal. What a find! My husband got a waygu burger and I got the Portuguese chicken sandwich. We are both very pleased and satisfied. We were more amazed of how cheap the sandwiches are. All the restaurants in the Circular Quay area is so much more expensive and this place was only about 2 blocks away. The workers here are super nice.

Awesome burgers! My fav are hot cheese burger & pulled pork burgers. The hot chips/fries are one of the best chips in town & dip in a chipotle sauce YUM!

Down a set of stairs that are easy to miss unless you know what you’re looking for is this 2 part sandwich-burger combo that is totally worth your time. I came here for the big sandwich on a recommendation from a colleague and was in turn instantly caught up by the co-owned burger joint next door. First the sambo– it’s big. Fits squarely into the ‘giant sandwich wrapped in 3 feet of tinfoil’ category that is so hard to find. Perfect if you’re so hungry a normal sandwich won’t satisfy. Lots of options for fillings and heaps of different bread choices too. I went for a Cajun chicken with added pickles. It was awesome– Then I went back the next day to try the burgers… And it was so worth it. Cool layout including seating if you want to eat-in. There are lots of burgers to choose from but I went for the special which was a pulled pork on a brioche bun. It ticked all my pulled pork burger boxes so I’d recommend it 100%. My mate also got the chips and upon trying said ‘sweet mother of Moses the chips are good’ so I’m going to go ahead and suggesting trying those too.

*Not only does North Sandwiches make an awesome sandwich, they make a brilliant burger too!* Finding a burger joint with a «burger with the lot» is not that hard these days. The delicious mix of beetroot, egg, and bacon added to a standard burger is one I’d eat daily(if my diet allowed). But finding somewhere that also let’s you choose the type of bread, and then has both chipolte and habenero sauces available to spice up said burger is worth much more than the $ 10 it cost. Not only was the burger delicious, it was juicy and fresh. The egg could have been a little runnier, but other than that, I find it hard to fault. Now the only issue is deciding whether to have a delicious big arse sandwich, or stunning burger. You win either way.

Norths Sandwiches have successfully moved into the burger business. Unsure of what I wanted for lunch I found myself at Norths Sandwiches staring unexcitedly at the menu, when I looked left and saw Norths… Burgers? I wasn’t aware Norths had branched out… But I’d had so many disappointing burgers lately… But Norths does good sandwiches… Surely there wouldn’t be a line if they failed at their burger attempt… I timidly approached the crowd and peered around other patrons to check out the menu. I saw a wagyu burger with chipotle mayo on special. I like wagyu, I like chipotle… My eyes went to the menu board and I saw chipotle everywhere, this was promising. As I approached the counter I saw a selection of burgers on display, just out in the open — and they all looked delicious. I ordered the crispy chicken burger. I was told they were out. Sad, but I had the chipotle chicken selected as a back up. Total of $ 14.40 with chips and a can of soft drink. Average. While waiting for my food I looked over their sauce selection. Barbecue and tomato sauce on offer — a nice gesture that is far too uncommon in Australia. Three El Yucataco hot sauces — excellent choice. One of which was the chipotle — even better. My burger came quickly. Portions are generous. Not the«how the heck does anyone ever finish this» size you get at Norths Sandwiches, but a good portion that I couldn’t finish. My first observation was how nicely coated in sauce the chicken was. I took a bite and was pleasantly surprised by the chipotle taste. I knew I had ordered chipotle, but trust me, in Sydney, that doesn’t mean you actually get to taste chipotle. The sauce was beautifully flavoured and spicy without being overpowering. The chips were nicely seasoned and went well with the chipotle-tomato sauce I mixed up. I’m very happy to have discovered a good burger spot close to work. Thank you, Norths.

Without doubt, the best sandwiches in the city! Pad and her team consistently make tasty, healthy, HUGE sandwiches — priced well! Cajun chicken w/avocado on dark rye is my go to, however the chicken schnitzel or Portuguese chicken are incredible too! Endless bread options & a huge feast = a big win for me. I eat here 2x a week minimum.

When it comes to food, I reckon I can keep up with the boys due to my bottomless stomach and appetite… except when it comes to North’s Complete Sandwiches. The sheer size of this sandwich, its basically a football. It was even bigger a couple of years ago when the original Italian owners were there because the nonnas would just pack it in! But the sandwich is still good and all made to order(none pre-made). I usually get the chicken schnitzel(I know, boring) and although its not as good as Little Vienna or Via Abercrombie, its still a very satisfying lunch. Its a bit of a trek if you work anywhere south of Hunter St, but worth it if you desperately need a protein and carb fest. Still one of my fave sandwich joints in Sydney CBD.
