Very nice restaurant. Not an upscale décor, and the price was a teensy bit high, but the food was delicious. We had the one pepper heat, which had my whole mouth tingling and was plenty hot enough. For my money, you have to be crazy to go hotter, but I know people who love piles of peppers in their food, so if that’s you, have at it, mate. I found the sauce savory, the noodles light and tender, the prawns were not overcooked… all in all, very well done indeed.

Master Bowl is one of the few Chinese restaurants that I actually have cravings for from time to time. The distinct smell of Sichuan chilli and peppercorn would immediately grab hold of your senses as soon as you step in. Chilli Dry Wok is one of the most popular Sichuan delicacies that truly reflects Sichuan cuisine’s four well-known elements: spicy, hot, fresh and fragrant. Master Bowl specialises in exactly this. Whilst I regard the food highly at Master Bowl, I feel obliged to offer a word of caution — don’t expect anything glam, it’s just a small eatery on Dixon Street in Chinatown and it takes a while for the food to arrive. It’s not the cleanest place either(but I keep coming back for more!)

I like the spicy hot pot base here. Although I can only take the least spiciest, the taste was one of the best I’ve had.
