It was okay, the place was so full when we went! It’s had pretty good food, I have no memory of it being bad but also no memory of it being above average. It’s pretty gloomy inside. The dark colours, the noise and worst of all the extremely small amount of space inside a hugely popular restaurant was pretty lame. Yeah, if you’re in the area and like Italian. Give it a go!

Decent simple Italian at a good price, all the essentials covered, can’t complain!

81% on Urbanspoon, I dont think so. Mammas is just your ordinary Italian. Nothing to shout about neither good nor bad. Pasta was nicely cooked, the sauce was good but one dimensional in flavour. Pawns were nicely done not overcooked and might be even be undercooked for some people. Pizza had a thin base not best pizza in that price range certainly not the worse. Conclusion Is it worth a special trip to the city for this? absolutely not. Average but still mildly enjoyable if you’re looking for a quick pizza or pasta fix without a booking. @thesydneynoob

I was staying at a penthouse close by and they delivered to my room! Although I just ordered a lonely pizza(Mediterranean flavor with eggplants). It was a different experience. We are used to eating hand tossed or pan pizza in USA. Almost all pizzas in Australia were by default what we call as THINCRUST.

Good god, where do I begin… This is NOT how your nonna used to make it. We were a group of 5 with #5 running late, the four of us went in and asked for a table. The waiter, with the personality of a dead stick, who was sat behind the cash register vaguely waved his arm over the entire place and said pick a seat. We sat and were brought 3 menus, two drink lists and a specials page. Dead Stick(DS) came back a minute later and asked if we were ready to order. we explained once again that we were waiting for someone but would like some drinks. We each ordered a cocktail and some water for the table. When our drinks were ready, they were carried over to the table one by one in a different waiters hands. who needs tray service? One member wasnt drinking and had asked for a lemonade. he was presented with a can and a straw stuck thru the ringpull. He asked the waitress that delivered it for a glass to which she sighed and rolled her eyes before walking away to fetch it. I know. we are so difficult. The cocktails were awful. All overloaded with sugar and syrups. I had a mojito, could only taste sugar. not rum, not even mint. Easily the worst I have ever had. Our water was unchilled tap water in a wine bottle. refreshing. I shared a pizza with my friend, it was OK, but had no life to it. It was just limp and bleh. My partner opted for the greek salad which was a plate of warm iceberg lettuce, and bit of tomato, an olive and some green capsicum. Seriously, that was it. It was beyond appalling. The others of our group had the Chicken Parmigiana and the Fettuccine Carbonara. The Chicken Parm was ok except for the giant slices of eggplant between the chicken and the sauce and melted cheese. I mean, is it a chicken parmigiana or an eggplant parmigiana? make up your mind… The fettuccine was way overcooked but the sauce was quite tasty. we went to pay and asked if we could split the check, DS told us to tell him what we re paying for and he would split it and cash it off as we went. We tried this but then my bill, he just made up his own version leaving the last two people to pay very confused and we had to settle each other with cash outside. We then went to a trusted local pub to forget the whole experience. Definitely stay away. Mama Mia!

Nice pizzas even though it is better to make your own combination! Salads are also gorgeous and sizes are good. Wines could be better. Service is nice and friendly and you do not have to wait. If you want your pizza at home theyhave delivery! If you are very hungry the 30 cm might not be enough!

If you’re in the mood for Pizza close to Darling Harbour, and China Town you will find Mamma’s Kitchen. I enjoyed a good pizza here. The service was really fast… As far as Pizza places go it’s categorically one of the better ones I’ve indulged at.

Pluses: good for groups, reservations were not necessary on a Friday night, reasonably priced, center of the City. The service is not great, stand up and wave your hands around and maybe you’ll get the staff’s attention. I wouldn’t call it authentic Italian cuisine, definitely Australianized — there’s fish & chips and schnitzel on the menu. The pizzas were decent, I like the thin crust but one of them was served luke warm and the other was not sliced when it first arrived at the table.
