Great bar. Jerome the barman friendly and engaging on a few occasions. Artsy, film festivaly, musos, cocktails, spin the wheel for a discount, subscribe to events on Facebook. Moved onto area about 4 weeks ago and am liking/loving it!

I enjoyed a drink here with some friends. The atmosphere is fun — another one of these Sydney bars that feels like you’re walking into a speakeasy because the outside is so nondescript. There is lots of weird and random art/stuff around, like the glowing mops and the random tool chest that is actually filled with tools. Spinning the wheel for a cocktail is fun. Service was decent. I’d definitely come back here.

Felt like I did a bit bump of ket before walking in here. Was eclectic and cool and refreshing.

«I’d like to buy a vowel please, John» Knox Street Bar’s Spin the wheel cocktail list brings back memories of day time TV in the 90s. $ 13 buys you a spin and a chance to pretend that you’re on the Wheel of Fortune — dreams fulfilled! The excitement died down a bit once we got our drinks though with only one out of four really shining. luck of the wheel gave us a Knox Street(a bit meh, more lemon juice than anything else), Toasted Almond(catering to the paleo crowd?), Lolita(cocktail of the night, flavoursome and not too sweet) and a Cleveland Street Steamer(a beguilingly named espresso martini). Maybe we just lucked out, there are plenty of others on their cocktail list to try and their beer list is tempting me back already with a short but sweet selection of craft brews. The Veggie Patch Food Truck had a residency in their kitchen when I visited. Tucked into their little scrap metal truck fronted box of a kitchen, the Veggie Patch boys were pumping out incredible haloumi burgers and sweet potato crisps. None of the soggy excuses for chips that I’ve had in other places, these thinly sliced mouthfuls of awesomeness were crunchy enough to be heard over the music. Maybe its the location, maybe it’s just a great use of space but this bar was perfect for a Friday night catchup — enough of a crowd to keep things exciting, but not packed out like most other bars on a Friday night so we didn’t have to shout into each others ears. Plenty of seating and a pinball machine gives busy hands something to do. Tighten up the cocktails a bit and you’ve got yourself a winner.

A fantastic new hole-in-the-wall local, open every weekday around 4. Come for the beer and atmosphere, stay for the music. Gets a bit tight and trendy late night.
