Very poor customer service. Called in to have them hold a book which was in stock, drove across town to find out it was never available and was given a very insincere apology. Highly advise against coming here with all your other options in town

Words cannot describe how happy I was to discover this bookstore. I went to Sydney with a friend on holiday and we decided to turn it into a book holiday. As in, we were going to visit as many bookstores in Sydney as we could. Galaxy is a bookstore located inside/​above another bookstore. They specialise in sci-​fi/​fantasy and by golly they have a lot of it. I picked up far too many books, considering I had to then carry then back home with me, but I am super glad I visited and I will definitely be back next time I am in Sydney. So if you’re looking for a great sci-​fi/​fantasy bookstore, this is it.

A great range of science fiction, fantasy and horror, with a crew that has an obvious passion for these genres. They can, and will, find that paperback you read last decade with the aliens that looked like elephants, or the one you saw last month, just over there with the orange-​ish cover.
And if you’re not a fan but want to buy a present for your niece who’s madly into Doctor Who, or your Dad who has the Tolkien obsession, they’ll have just the recommendation for you.

Galaxy always stocks things that you can’t find in mainstream bookshops.
It’s a must have visit place for those that love love love anything Sci Fi, fantasy, etc. It’s what they specialise in. From books to paraphernalia from Dr Who to Star Wars.
It’s one of my favourite places to visit and loose a few hours in. Plus the staff are all über friendly and know their stuff.
