When did this guy spring up in the back streets of Darlinghurst? And why wasn’t I informed immediately? The name Eternity might derive from that famous Sydneysider who went around stencilling the word«eternity» in cursive script in chalk on the pavements around Sydney, or it could be something more meta than that, but either way this is a damn find playhouse. It’s brand new, and wonderfully appointed — it feels old and grand, yet sharp and modern, with a bar front and center with reasonably-priced wines and cocktail specials themed around whatever show is currently playing. Once the ding ding dings start, head up the stairs, through the red leather portal, and into a theatre both spacious and intimate, with comfortable chairs and unobstructed viewing no matter where you sit. Tip: hit the front row. You’ll feel like you’re actually IN the play. Maybe throw a few impromptu lines out there, see what happens.
