I usually get my morning coffee here — coffee is strong(which I love) and the staff learn your name and order which helps them quickly move through queues in busy times! They also have lactose free milk — YAY! I love their toasted banana bread and yesterday I had the bacon and egg roll which was spectacular!

Coffee and service here is excellent. Cheap bacon and eggs rolls with the option of extras at no extra cost. Has become my daily coffee spot!

Had coffee and brekkie here a few weeks ago — super friendly service, good coffee and good breakfast. Would definitely stop by again!

Coffee aficionados have long arguments about the merits of Toby’s Estate. Love it or hate it, the coffee is always strong and full of flavour, and there are plenty of choices as to how you can have it, including cold.(Mecca Espresso Ultimo and 80 Bay are the only places in Ultimo where you can get syphon coffee, if that’s what you’re into.) 80 Bay occupies a high-ceiling warehouse space in the old Readers Digest building(opposite Broadway Shopping Centre). It’s a lovely café environment, with trendy old tram-rolls on the walls, Bentwood chairs, and big wooden shelves. Rachel C describes it better … The thing that really grabbed us about 80 Bay was the lunch menu. Affordable, and rather different. — Goats cheese in scrambled egg with truffle salt and toast … Sweet potato butter, caramelised mushrooms and spinach on quinoa … Salad of poached chicken breast, fresh pear, blue brie, roasted almonds, and mixed leaf … Rockmelon, prosciutto and mint with Pedro Ximinez syrup, This is a made-to-impress menu. With such impressive descriptions, the realised meal can sometimes be slightly disappointing(what?! my brioche ISN’T serenading me from the plate?) but in general 80 Bay have very quality food.

The new Toby’s Estate Café 80 Bay has got the look. With a set up that’s Spaghetti-Western Bar come Chemistry/Coffee Lab, it’s rustic, unique and beautiful. The menu is fantastic, and cheap — these could be opening prices, as 80 Bay hasn’t been around long enough to hike them yet, but if I’m getting Goats cheese in scrambled eggs with truffle salt and toast for $ 9, then I’m not complaining. The coffee is your staple Toby’s Estate success — with their own pool Toby’s-trained baristas to pull from, it’s rare that you’ll ever get a dud cup. Actually, I’m not sure I’m giving this coffee enough credit — it’s rare that you’ll ever get a coffee here that’s anything less than perfect. I also tried their daily special of home-made strawberry and grapefruit sparkling — equally delicious.
Whilst I rocked up at 80 Bay as its doors were just yawning open, it didn’t take long for the café to fill. Service was efficient and friendly, a sparkling feature on the already beautiful and charming décor. Not only does 80 Bay have the look, but it has the taste, the energy, and the finesse of success. And with all of Toby’s tried and tested tricks up its sleeve, I’m not surprised.
