What a disappointing lunch! The lady who took my order was kind but that’s probably the highlight of my experience here.
The food was just downright awful. I had the katsu chicken curry lunch set which came with rice, salad, and miso soup. My curry was super bland due to being watered down. This is absolutely disgraceful because Japanese curry has a distinct flavor and light thickness that makes it different from Thai or Indian curry. The rice was not sticky/​wet as Japanese rice should be either. The miso soup was some of the worst I have tasted. I only had a sip and the salad was just lettuce with a slice of cucumber and two pieces of capsicum with asian salad dressing.
I didn’t feel well after leaving this place and I blame it on the low food quality. I also noticed that the kitchen staff in the back were not Japanese. I will never go back and will definitely tell my friends that this isn’t an authentic Japanese establishment and to go elsewhere.

I have been getting my lunch here at least once a week for the last two years and I have never been disappointed.
The katsu chicken lunch special (katsu chicken, rice, salad and miso) is great value coming in just under $ 10. If you want to up the ante there’s the bento box where you’ll find the usual suspects and that will set you back about $ 13-​$ 18 depending on the main dish you choose.
There’s also a large range of sushi rolls and rice paper rolls along with a couple of salads and wraps.
There are enough tables inside and out so you can dine in during their peak period at lunch but all dishes are available takeaway and there’s never much of a wait.

Another Subiaco cheap and cheerful Asian food place. Had a fantastic Japanese curry lunch for $ 12.50 with miso soup and a side salad. With the ability to sit down and take your time.
The only downside is that it’s right beside Hay Street, so if its a busy time on the road you’ll be having your food coated in petrol fumes instead of the curry sauce.
I really enjoyed my lunch and was extremely happy with the portion size.
