Terrible practices, caveat emptor, buyer beware! If you sign a contract here they will keep billing you no matter what. I even changed my account number to make it stop, but they found a way around it to keep billing me for a service I haven’t used in over a year! They have billed me over $ 1000 for a membership I haven’t used.

South Pacific Heath Clubs have to be one of the coolest health clubs going around. Its a shame there isn’t more of them around Melbourne. It’s location, wrapped around the Sea Baths and also along the picturesque Jacka Blv is the perfect fit. These clubs are clean, tidy, modern, packed with state of the art equipment and best of all it has the most amazing views of the bay. This club oozes exclusive day spa, yet is completely unpretentious and both staff and trainers are friendly, educated and willing to help.

Touted as «more than just a gym», South Pacific Health Club in St Kilda certainly boasts a fantastic lay-out and atmosphere. Located right on the foreshore at St Kilda beach, the views that can be seen from the floor to ceiling windows in the main work-out room almost make dragging your booty there after work enjoyable. Almost. That said, as someone who is usually adverse to all kinds of exercise, SPHC do make the work-out experience that much easier with their modern equipment, access to a range of classes and pool/spa facilities. It is often tricky to time your pool visit so as not to compete with a mass crowd, however when you do manage to score a relatively quiet period, the salted pool and baths are quite relaxing. For an annual membership, you’re looking at approximately $ 23.50 per week. I customised my contract to only be 6 months, which works out to be about $ 25 per week. It is quite pricey compared to other gyms in the area, however the location is unrivalled and there are often deals and specials up for grabs.

This is quite a luxurious gym with a fantastic location right on the beach in the middle of the St Kilda Seabaths. The gym facilities include all the usual cardio equipment treadmills, cross trainers and rowing machines, as well as free weights and use of the St Kilda Sea Baths 25-metre indoor heated seawater pool. Don’t mind if I do! The pool area also has an aromatherapy steam room, hydrotherapy spa and lounge area and personal lockers. The day spa at the Health Club is called«Spa Dreamtime.» Here you can take up one of many treatments ranging from half hour express treatments to an indulgent full day’s stay. South Pacific Health Club have personal training available as well as group fitness classes. The great thing is they also offer a free trial voucher on their website where you can visit the gym, speak to the trainers and get a feel for the environment. I always find it worthwhile doing this if you are looking to start up a new gym membership, that way you know exactly what your getting for your money and you can speak with the staff one on one.
