Oh the ‘Mighty Melbourne’ OMG so succulent it oozes yummo, pineapple egg bacon cheese the list goes on I asked to hold the Beetroot! A burger that meets all expectations and some! Great service a big crowd for a public holiday but plenty of friendly staff. A tourist precinct makes it hard to secure a park, overall a great experience and holds well for now what is now an established chain.

Great place for fresh food fast! I didn’t have a burger here but I had a delicious healthy salad. I’ve never had such a delicious fast salad; pomegranate seeds, goat cheese, and arugula yum! These guys have a great philosophy on where they source their meat from and how the animals are treated; while isn’t necessary for all, it still makes me feel better about eating the food. I’d head back to Grill’d again for a quick, healthy meal.

Just asked one of the employees if they’re being paid proper wages after recent controversy over terrible award and penalty rate payments. He had no idea. is this a good thing?

Went down to St Kilda for the afternoon, due to the unnatural Melbourne sun that was out that day during wintertime. Been told that Grill’d was like the Queenstown, NZ equivalent of Fergburger so came here for lunch to try it. Got the Simply Grill’d burger which had lean beef, fresh salad, relish and herbed mayo. Was a good classic option and very filling. Can choose to add tasty cheese which I skipped out on. Great that you can also choose the bun: traditional or lightly floured panini(this one for me). They also have chicken, lamb and veggie burgers. Was also considering their sliders. Nice to know they do steak sandwiches as well as salads for a more healthy option. Had to try their famous Grill’d chips in regular size– but it’s huge so get it to share. They were thick-cut with an interesting Grill’d special herb mix. Would like to try their sweet potato chips next time and one of their special sauces on offer. They have a good fridge selection of juices, beers and ciders in addition to the standard fizzy drinks. Got a crush while friends had a beer and Rekordelig! So cool they hvae it. Nice place on the main road with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Good burgers– try it for yourself!

I was a bit skeptical at all of the good reviews as I am a bit of a burger expert. But Grill’d delivered, and not just on taste but on price, too. $ 9.50 for a big juicy burger seems like a pretty good deal in this country!

Great place — quick service, an excellent variety of burgers including lamb and some creative combinations, and bottles of local beer available. I take no responsibility for an artificial inflation of my rating here: we had spent the day walking from the CBD through inner Melbourne neighborhoods, and all I can say is that a nicely prepared burger and cold brew perfectly hit the spot and refueled us to walk along the bay back into the central district. I have a feeling it all would have been just as good even if we had spent the day getting pedicures.

I’ve always enjoyed a good feed at Grill’d and now that they’ve started offering amazing drinks such as their Rekorderlig Slushie(which tasted like there was a smidge of vodka involved), I my just become a regular. It’s got the best chips I’ve tasted outside of Benelux and burger that make your mouth water.

Good burgers, but cleanliness might be an issue. I had an argument with the manager when an employee put a box that had been on the floor onto the cutting board used to make sandwiches. He insisted the box was«clean» and that he knew where it had been. Not sure I trust them now.

Sure these burgers look pretty, come with salad, there’s the option of a wholemeal bun and claim that they use the highest quality, freshest ingredients, however I still don’t see what all the fuss is about; a burger is still a burger wherever you get it, and it’s still served with the option of Coke and fries. Don’t get me wrong, the burger is big and tasty and somewhat healthy, but it’s not the questionable marketing that throws me, it’s the cost that blows my mind. Just falling short of $ 20 for fries and a burger with no alterations, not including a drink — WHAT?! No burger and fries is worth $ 20 unless Jacques Reymond made it himself, and even then i’d question the price. And the dining experience… well it’s no different than dining in at one of its competitor fast-food chain restaurants. If you want an expensive gourmet burger from a take away shop with the bonus of eating chunkier, seasoned fries then go here.

Verdict: Having watched Melbourne conquer Chinese, German and Italian dishes effortlessly, I was surprised when I had a poor Burger experience at Lord of the Fries( ), however, all doubt was washed away upon arriving at Grill’d, because my burger was hands down one of the best burger experiences I’ve had. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Grill’d really is brilliant from the moment you walk in the door. With a hyper-friendly and accommodating staff in conjunction with abundant seating both in and outdoors, Grill’d puts the icing on the cake by giving each customer a token that they can use to select which charity Grill’d will donate to. With a list of how much was donated to each charity the previous month, this really is a brilliant idea. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Even as a gourmet burger establishment, I was a bit nervous when I saw the $ 10.90 price tag on my Crispy Bacon Cheeseburger. However, my fears were alleviated when I saw that my burger was both of good size and of excellent quality. $ 10.90 for a quality burger? Worth it. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Top down, Grill’d serves up one of the best burgers I’ve had in recent memory, and without a doubt the best I’ve had outside of the United States. To start it off, Grill’d has a truly phenomenal menu, with two different types of fresh bread mix and mashable with beef, chicken, lamb or veggie burgers. From there, fresh toppings make for a truly phenomenal and juicy burger. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Quality, Friendly, Delicious and Socially Responsible. Grill’d is hands down my favorite restaurant in St. Kilda if not all of Melbourne. I’d gladly come here daily and would even more gladly bring the concept to the states! Star Granted. *edit: Sadly, I’ve since left Australia, but I should emphasize that this was without question my best dining experience in a country full of brilliant dining experiences. Come to the US! I beg you!

Ah huh. Hmmmm… Yessss! As far as burgers go, this is… as good as it gets ANYWHERE. I mean anywhere in the entire universe, not just in St Kilda. Home made, hand made chicken, beef and lamb burgers. Ohhhh, if you’ve been here, you know what I’m talking about. The unprocessed, 100% real lean meat, mixed with whatever magic they conjure up at Grill’d, finished off with tasty, tasty cheese, and whatever mix of salads and dressing you choose. But you won’t just get lettuce, plain Kraft mayo and tomato here; its mixed salad, home made relish, tzatziki, herbed mayonnaise. Yeeeaaahhh! And steak sandwiches aren’t served on 1 mm thin Coles $ 1 best buy bread, no siree. The most tasty ciabatta bread, beetroot relish, mustard, pickles. Whatever gourmet sides, dressing and salads you can muster up in your brain, you can get on your burger or sanga here at Grill’d. With alfresco dining, the friendliest staff and open hours til 11pm, when I’m in the mood for a burger I honestly drive the 30mins to St Kilda… EVERYTIME, for one of these mouth watering, juicy, succulent preservative, tasty, awesom-est ever burgers. It’s only 9:45, I’m going there right now. Should have 45 mins spare to gorge two… if my stomach allows!!! Tips: For little ‘big people’ like me, they have mini burgers! My fave is the ‘Mini Moo.’ They also have kids meals and kids size burgers. If you don’t know what to get, may I suggest the Moroccan Lamb, Summer Sunset(beef), or the Tuscan Delight(chicken). Worth the prices. Worth the drive. And… it’s on the greatest street in Melbs, Acland. Perfect!!!
