We had a pretty good dinner at TGI Fridays. It resembles the Hard Rock Café. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. We chose three plates to share for 28 $: the portions are a little bit small when you chose the share plates but they were tasty. We had Mac n cheese bites, the buffalo chicken nachos and the nachos meatballs. We also had a bottle of Pinot Noir which was really good!

Atrocious. We were seated quite quickly just after midday. Approximately 3 tables were seated in the restaurant at the time. Poor waitress appeared to be on her own. People kept arriving for lunch after us. Ordered drinks which took 25 mins to arrive and by then they had clearly been sitting for some time as the head on the beers had settled about an inch. We ordered our burgers at the same time as our drinks and did not receive them until we had been in the restaurant for 50 mins. Burgers were as dry as a dead dingos donger and flavourless. 4 people, 1 drink each and 1 burger and chips. $ 158. TGI Fridays can cram it in their cramholes. Poorly staffed and managed and overpriced, over cooked ‘C’ grade burgers.

A great American chain that is clearly ruined by Australian labor costs. A large fit out, lower Chapel Street section, upper level and lower back level that faces Jam Factory mall. Walk in from Chapel street sign says waif for host, no host to be seen, go upstairs host takes us back down only limited tables free, so walks us back up. Stated no host at entrances. The Jam Factory lower entrance has same sign so people stand in limbo. Also no service in Jam factory end you have to go to bar for service yey pay same as rest of venue. One family of 8 walked out when told that. Overall the service was slow, kitchen was very slow and I would not go back again. Shame as Buffalo wings are sensational albeit $ 20 for 12 is so overpriced.

If you’re into the US of A then this place is for you. I love the states and it does remind me of being there. The portions are a little large and I always feel a bit too full when I leave. It’s a little pricey too. On the up side there are great flavors and a lot of choice. Don’t go past the buffalo wings and Jack Daniels burger.

I love TGI’s. Give me the Jack Daniels burger, with extra Jack Daniels sauce on the side to dip my chips in. Sorry what was that, perfection? Yes correct, perfection! I have been going here since I was like 15 years old, & I still order the same thing every single time! If I am hung over I chuck a side of deep fried mac & cheese on the list because hey deep fried cheese whilst hungover is just what the doctor ordered. They do pretty crazy happy hour deals, $ 10 cocktails, $ 6 wine, $ 350 beer & cider. I am pretty sure that is between 5 — 7 every night. Not the cheapest place, not the most expensive place, pretty perfect in my opinion!

Last Sunday I was set to go see a movie but was interested to watch my SA Spurs play on TV. I looked around chapel street only to find footy on the tube. Don’t get me wrong! I am ok with footy; but, my spurs were playing and I need to see them spank the trailblazers. I walked into TGI Fridays… at first I was a bit uncomfortable it being Mother’s Day and all. Once I reached the bar, the manager greeted me and I immediately asked him if he could change one of the several TV’s in the place to the spurs game… he was more than happy to oblige! I ordered the Texas burger with fries and man, it was delicious. I enjoyed my game and received great service. I promised my partner when she returns from her trip, we will definitely hit the place as they have an impressive veggie burger on the menu — not your run of the mill tofu but a true veggie patty!

Great food and great cocktails. Just had an amazing meal there. The potato skins are an old favorite. Tonight we were served by Keeva, she was fast, friendly and I would highly recommend her

Oh dear. We came here because we thought it’d be a nice, quickish meal before our movie. We were wrong. The restaurant is huge and we saw lots of empty tables but we were told that we’d have to wait and were given a buzzer for when a table became available. We ordered drinks from the bar and waited for our buzzer to flash. The strawberry daiquiris were tasty and the bar was quick with our drinks. When we were seated, the waitress took our order right away as we said we had a timeline and movie to catch. We ordered the potato skins x2, hot wings and a jack daniels burger. We asked for them all to come out at the same time. One set of potato skins came out about 10 minutes after we ordered, which in hindsight was a good thing, as the meal took 45 minutes to come out. So we were very thankful they came out when they did. We ordered drinks from the waitress at the beginning and she didn’t come back until we flagged her down to say we had to go soon to catch our movie. We also asked about the drinks that we’d ordered and she’d forgotten to ring them in. We cancelled the two beers and just asked for water and cokes at this time. Food was ok, we should have probably just eaten on Chapel Street as it wasn’t any quicker to eat at TGIF’s before the movie. Poor service + average food = probably won’t go back.

Another good meal here! Again no options for American food in Sydney so every chance I get I come here in melbourne. Had a very friendly waiter Chico who provided great service… no complaints from me however appetizers could be a bit cheaper!

Fantastic food and service. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I’ve never had to wait for a table. The quesadillas, potato skins and burgers are lovely! The cocktails are nice too

Over-priced food, took ages to get delivered and the side of chips was cooked in dirty oil. Check out the picture I took to see how much of my $ 18 chicken BLT I actually ate. Was fully disgusted by the quality of the meal. Had to check I was biting into a piece of chicken because all I could taste was dirty oil! Gross.

I like TGI Friday’s, they serve traditional American style meals at very reasonable prices. Think Jack Daniels Ribs and Steaks, Chargrilled Salom, Chicken Caeser Salad and of course Gourmet Burgers and Fries. The menu really is quite extensive and the servings are huge! TGI Friday’s also offers happy hour everyday of the week from 4pm — 7pm you can get $ 3 pots, $ 5 basics and a good selection of their in-house cocktails for abut $ 7, I can taste the Cosmopolitan right now! It does tend to get very busy at TGI’s being situated inside the Jam factory they get alot of traffic from the cinemas next door as well as hungry shoppers on Chapel Street. I find especially during happy hour that is easier to just order your food and drinks at the bar, if you sit there waiting for table service you may be waiting a very long time! The bar staff are quick and efficient and usually once the clock reaches 7:15pm the restaurant tends to slow down a little meaning service is quicker and more personable.

Looking for a cheap, cheerful meal on Chapel Street? Then DON’T come here. The service was quite honestly the worst I have ever experienced in 10+ years of dining out in Melbourne. We waited 15 minutes to even be greeted at the door and seated, despite a room full of empty tables. We then waited another 30 minutes to have our drinks orders taken. The food took 90 minutes to arrive and was cold when it finally came. Oh, and did I mention that we still hadn’t even received our drinks yet? When we complained to a waitress about our service, he said our waiter had been working there for eight years. That is eight years of some pretty unhappy customers if our experience is anything to go by. I won’t take you through the décor etc because to be honest, I was so freakin starving I barely even noticed. I won’t be back.

I have once said out loud that if a man took me on a date to T.G.I Fridays I would immediately be his. The tackiness, fatty food and over-the-top cocktails made me believe that we would be happy together forever… that was until I actually went there and my date went home alone. After waiting 20 minutes for a drink, we waited another 15 to be served by a waitress before becoming so impatient that we went directly up to a staff member and asked to be served. We ordered meals and another round of drinks… our entrée and our main both came out before our drinks. Perhaps the staff were having an off night, or perhaps they save the really good staff for Friday’s! Either way, I won’t be coming here again — despite the much-loved tackiness.
