Went in with my mum to get some dinner. The waitress was very nice but the food was ok the pizza tastes like a Coles oven pizza. After our bland pizza we ordered some coffee, mine came out so hot I couldn’t lift The glass after letting it cool for 10 mins I tasted it to realised the milk was burnt. Told the waitress who told me she would get a replacement. Next minute the owners at our table yelling at me that he knows how to make coffee and it was my fault for not drinking it quick enough. I know see why we were one of two tables dining there that night. Trust me when I say there is no good reason to go there.

I’ll have to agree with the previous comments. The food was OK but not amazing and the service was a bit off. They have some tables outside on Chapel Street which is nice.

Nice Italian place to stop in for desserts and coffees. We came by after dinner on Saturday night and sat outside under the heat lamps. Very friendly, outgoing servers. Really nice sticky date puddings. The vanilla bean ice cream was deeeelicious.

La Camera is a pretty standard Italian restaurant that doesn’t particularly stand out from the numerous other Mediterranean restaurants that line Chapel Street. That is, except for their super cheap breakfast deals from Monday — Friday(before midday). For $ 6.90 you can get bacon and eggs(done any way you like) with toast, and a tea or coffee. Not bad for the price(particularly when considering the standard price of basic breakfasts on Chapel Street). The menu otherwise, is not cheap, and the food is nothing to write home about, but for a cheap eat on your way to work during the breakfast special period, it can’t be beat!

Located on Chapel Street, La Camera brings no nonsense Italian food to a bustling area. Whilst Chapel Street has no shortage of great restaurants and shops, it can be a bit too much at times. La Camera, which means«The Room» in Italian, steps away from this and provides a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for its patrons. With the usual Italian fares including bruschetta, antipasto, pastas, and pizzas, you are guaranteed a good size portion for a reasonable price. Entrees are around $ 16 and mains are around $ 20. Their wine list is simple with the usual one glass of each varietal — shiraz, pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, etc. I was starving on a night out and chose La Camera because it was so close to where we drinking. The service was good, I had a decent bolognaise, the wine was average, but it did the trick. This place is not fancy and is probably an average Italian restaurant in Melbourne. And if that’s what you’re looking for on Chapel Street, then La Camera is for you.
