Nite Spice

Nite Spice is an Indian/​Thai restaurant in a quiet suburban corner of Shelley, Perth, easily accessible by not being far from Leach Hwy. I really liked the food I had, which was 2 vegetarian Indian dishes, naan bread and rice. The price was reasonable and the place was neat and clean. It is BYO alcohol, which would help control the overall price of a meal.

I only discovered this place through an Our Deal deal, so I’m not sure if it’s new or just looking to expand their clientele. I wasn’t necessarily expecting a lot given the location and that such deals can be hit or miss at times. I was pleasantly surprised! It’s tucked away in a little shopping center in Shelley, quite close to where I live. Four of us went on a Thursday night at 7:30, and we were pretty much the only folks there all night. The atmosphere/​décor was nothing to write home about but was fine (clean and pleasant enough). The service was fantastic, however; I suspect the man who waited on us may have been one of the owners, and he seemed very eager to ensure everything was to our own liking. We brought our own wine, which was no problem. They offer mostly Indian food, but also some Thai; we all got exclusively Indian, so I can’t comment on the latter. However, the Indian food was just fantastic (everyone agreed); definitely 5 stars on the food front, and the prices were pretty reasonable. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 overall is just that the atmosphere is pretty ho-​hum compared to some of the trendy spots downtown or the beach views on the coast; nonetheless, a fabulous find in my little neck of the woods, and I’ll definitely be going back! They do takeout as well.
