$ 18+ for a cocktail which seems pricey but they used double shots of rum and didn’t use fillers like soda water/lemonade. Really beautiful drinks and knowledgeable staff. Cool little hipster joint.

I am not really sure what to make of this place, either I am not cool enough to go there or it is trying way hard to be cool? Either way, it has such potential but I just didn’t experience the potential greatness when I went in one quite Saturday night. They operate off a ticket system with one ticket equalling $ 5.50, which is really cool, if they actually utilised this system, however they didn’t & from what I hear they don’t often, which kind of ruins the whole vibe as the drinks lists don’t actually tell you what is in the drinks nor the prices, just how many tickets each drink is worth. It is a very small area with tables randomly placed around & you have to stand in awkward areas such as in front of the bathroom entrance or hover around the bar with no stools for you to sit on. I will for sure go back & give it another shot because I wouldn’t say I don’t like the place, maybe it was just a bad night? Not sure, my cocktail was nice & I really want to be cool enough to go there haha.

A very interesting concept for a bar! Ticketing system. Buy tickets at the booth then proceed to use that at the bar. We had a great night here when we randomly stumbled in. Playing dominos with a random group and mingled. A cool looking place, well priced drinks

Pros: — Location. — Music was nice. Cons: — Drinks are as expensive and delayed as they claim not to be. The ticket booth is cool, but not cool enough to make us forget that we paid $ 5 per ticket. $ 20 for a cocktail which required a lot of arranging; $ 10 for a short mixed drink; $ 5 for THAT beer. — Drinks in plastic cups. C’mon, sustainability. — The tables seem to be placed to minimise standing space at the bar, and seating space elsewhere. Maybe that was intentional.

I don’t write bad reviews so I will avoid saying too much as everyone has their own taste and experiences but I found this place a tad pretentious. Going to effort to make something look authentically shtty doesn’t really work. I like the idea of the ticketed drinks which was fun, the cocktails were good, the atmosphere was meh.

Goodbye Der Raum… hello Bar Economico! Gone are the days of $ 20+ cocktails that take almost as much time to make as an episode of Friends. Instead, Matthew Bax has opened a cheap, cheerful, tongue-in-cheek dive bar where everything is bought with pre-paid tickets and you’re made to feel like you’re drinking in some third world country. Visit the«managers» booth at the back and buy a collection of tickets at $ 5 each. They’re only valid for the night you’re there, so don’t go crazy until you know you’re in for a serious session. With shots and beer starting at 1 ticket(that’s $ 5 people!) all the way up to 4 tickets for the super boozie Zombie cocktails, there’s something priced for everyone. The most popular cocktails seem to be those around the $ 10 mark. They’re quick to be made, with a lot of the booze pre-mixed in bottles and then built in a plastic up filled with ice. While the focus is on affordable booze, the quality is certainly not dropped. Drinks are garnished properly and the liquor is of a good quality. Service is chatty and efficient and luckily they’re safely held behind the bar«cage» because some of those bartenders are smokin’ hot and I imagine the ladies might get out of control. The ambiance? I felt like I was participating in an art installation rather than experiencing a bar. Is this a good thing? Maybe not for every night of the week but if you’re after something fun and different then give it a whirl. The music is crazy electro-jazz-swingy and keeps the spirits high. The crowd is cool, arty and hipster-y.
