SPAR

I have always been suspicious of independent supermarkets. They usually have a terrible selection available and even worse prices compared to coles and woolworths. Spar is very different.
The selection available is very competative (not everything you would find in the bigger ones) but 90% of our shopping trip can be done here.
Additionally the prices are only marginally higher on some items. Most items are the same price or lower! One exception is meat products. All in all the shop tends to be about the same price and the convenienve more than makes up for any small difference.
The staff are always very helpful and friendly too.

A supermarket downstairs sounds like a dream come true, right?
Well it is both a blessing and a curse.
When you run out of something, it’s the best. You can just duck down and grab whatever it is you’re out of.
And this Spar has just about everything you could want. It is a bit pricier than the Woolies up at Redfern Oval, but I guess that’s the cost of convenience.
When you’re battling to not binge on chips, lollies and soft drink, it’s the worst.
They have an amazing range of all the above and more. I mean they have all those obscure imported soft drinks like Dr Pepper in all their high fructose corn syrupy goodness!
Actually, come to think of it (leaves to go get a Dr Pepper…)
