Great little place. I have to say the streak is one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff are great as well

This place continues to be a favourite for us. Some great recent additions to the menu, like fresh oysters and steak tartare. Desserts are always interesting, and I come back for the cheese course every. single. time. Gary is always ready to make great suggestions on wines and specials. Had lunch today, and everything was beautiful – baked ham and mushroom crêpe for me with a glass of pinot grigio and a filled-to-bursting chicken salad sandwich with a glass of NZ cider for him. We surrendered to dessert and coffee too, with an amazing orange and almond cake.

Love this place! It’s the perfect place for a Sunday brunch, or a romantic mid-week dinner. The ambiance is a good mix of cozy, homely décor with a stylish French twist. It’s cozy and quiet, so you can have a conversation without any worry. The service was fantastic, big thanks to Gary(owner/chef), you can tell that he is very passionate about his restaurant! The specials rotate based on season so it’s always fresh and good quality. For main I had the seafood special — moules marinières(mussels in a creamy white wine sauce). It was absolutely divine! It was served with a side of fries and fresh baguette to mop up the sauce. Honestly, I could drink that sauce if I could. My friend had the pear and chevre salad, it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing as well.

This restaurant took me by surprise — nestled in the quiet residential streets, the Pitt St Diner was quite busy for a Sunday brunch when I visited. With a French-inspired menu, the food was full of flavour and to be enjoyed with a few glasses of wine or special cocktails. Their wine list also offers selections imported from all around Europe which is an absolute treat especially for an evening amongst friends.

Fabulous. Friendly genuine service, great food, music & atmosphere. Good wine list too. Had a chat to the owner he’s lovely. The burgers are amazing; juicy & the aioli on the burger is to die for.

What a lovely, lovely place. Thanks Unilocal for directing us here! Went here to grab a quick bite before the Unilocal event and we were not disappointed. I ordered a special — it was a squid risotto with calamari and chorizo, and it was super yummy and tasty. I seriously could not stop eating it – the risotto was nice and creamy, and the chorizo gave it a nice flavor. I got to sample the lasagna(also a special) and it was good, too. Service was prompt and friendly. The place is really cozy, too! Would’ve wanted to stay longer and just relax over wine, maybe next time.

The Service was very friendly and welcoming. My ordered vegetarian Risotto with Blue Cheese came quite quickly and it was very good. I can fully recommend having Dinner at the Pitt St Diner.

Have been here before, usually good service and food. If you are going to serve a Large Latte in a Big glass, it doesn’t look good when the coffee ends 3cms from the top of the glass, at least it was hot. Good tasty as always. Menu has changed, less to choose for Brekky. Will be back, at se stage. Always looking for places with good choice of meals.

I had croque Madame(with fried egg) & my partner had baked eggs in a tomato & chorizo based sauce. Both meals were very good. Coffees likewise. Have been here before & will come back.

Friendly, attentive service. Fresh, creative, delicious breakfast. Very good coffee. We had the green eggs and ham. Eggs with pesto and spinach, ham, bacon, on artisan sourdough. I couldn’t speak a word after the meal arrived because I was so busy eating. Coffee(long black) and tea were delicious too. Very cool and cozy little spot. Go here.

Hotttt! This place is hot in the way only a blistering stinky day can make a oven heated eatery. Despite the timber window at the front being wide open this place is sweaty. It is an extremely hot day so it’s excusable because there are so many redeeming features to this place. It’s all about the black and white striped wall paper. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that have the biggest impact. I love the dark wood throughout the place and the lettuce leaf green wall couches. There’s a room out the back with a big communal table that would be good for a quiet reprieve away from the other diners on busy days. I ordered the Beetroot Salad with goats cheese and pine nuts($ 16) and it was delicious — plenty of the tasty bits — I can’t stand it when places skimp on the more scrummy, usually more expensive ingredients. Menu picks: Barramundi Fish Cakes and the Asparagus Bruschetta with prosciutto and Parmesan. The muffins look pretty scummy too. Staff are really friendly and quick to service. Chilled lounge music plays in the background. Outdoor seating. Toilets could do with more frequent cleaning. No high seats for kids.

In the every so popular Redfern, you’ll find this little café diner tucked away serving some great coffee, and soon to be dinner & degustation menu. I usually go for lunch, and a quick snack on some sandwiches and freshly made salads of the day. The freshness and originality of the menu makes this feel like a superior class restaurant, all for the convenience of take-away if you’re in a rush like me. The breakfast menu looks amazing, and I’ve been wanting to enjoy a long breakfast with a strong Latte for a while now. The diner has indoor & outdoor seating, and a café bar style that looks out onto the quiet side street. It’s always filled with locals, and creatives from the many design & advertising businesses that fill this area. Only go if you’re hungry, as the portions are fantastic!
